Most new design are now dry filter instead of oil filter. Our filter do not require oil, it is reusable and washable. You can wash it with soap and water, rinse it until it is all dry up and use it again. We recommend you to check every 5,000 miles to see if it needs to be wash / clean. Silicone is a premium rubber which seals better and lasts longer. The air filter, couplers and tube seals in our intake kits are made from our premium silicone rubber. This means they won't crack, has exceptional tear strength, and can handle temperatures as high as 400F. Also, with a high friction surface and no oily residue, our silicone filters and couplers won’t slide off the tube. MOOSUN air intakes are very easy to install on your car or truck. A typical air intake installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet-set in 90 minutes or less! MOOSUN specifically engineers their intake kits to use existing factory holes and mounting points, making installation simple. The vast majority of MOOSUN cold air induction systems do not require any cutting or drilling. Step 1 - Make sure your engine is cool to the touch. Step 2 - Disconnect your battery cable from the negative terminal. Step 3 - Remove your old air intake. Step 4 - Attach the silicone coupling that came with the air intake kit to the throttle body. Step 5 - Secure the coupling by tightening a hose clamp at the end. Step 6 - Place another hose clamp on the front of the coupling, but don’t tighten it just yet. Step 7 - Slide the intake tube into the silicone coupling, and ensure that your intake pipe is running from the throttle bay away from the engine bay. Step 8 - Tighten the silicone coupling and secure all brackets on the tube. Step 9 - Plug the mass air flow sensor into the new cold air intake system. Step 10 - Reconnect the battery.Enjoy the new power boosts immediately!

UPDATE 12/01/2023 : Been 1 month since I installed it. I have gained approximately 2 mpg when I drive normal and don't hot rod it. So that is a big plus! Wanted one but didn't want to pay the high price of other brands. This one was worth it. Decently priced and I have noticed a significant difference when installed on a stock 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 5.3 L V8. So I wanted to wait a week to really see how I liked it. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response. This thing really woke up that stock V8. Not like I gained a ton of HP but it definitely is quicker. Can easily spin the tires now compared to not being able to before. Sounds a lot throatier too. Gives it a nice roar under full throttle. I would guess I gained 10-15 HP but that is a guess only. All I know is that I am glad I did it. I have not noticed any increase in MPG, in fact it seems to have gone down 1 mpg yet that could be because I am getting on it more now. Only time will tell as I ease up on my lead foot. Either way, I highly recommend it. Was not hard to install, only came with 3 clamps though and I needed a 4th one. Also, the plastic piece that goes inside the tube and has a notch cut out for the MAF sensor, be sure to put that in before you clamp down the boot to the tube. The boot will hold it in place so it doesn't rattle around. Overall it was a pretty easy install. I removed the stock air box and also removed the bottom tray that is under the air box. Used two of those bolts to hold the new on in place. Only took about an hour to install it. ... show more

It’s great and impressive! I should have bought this a long time ago. I had a KN intake and it did not last 2 years. The plastic cracked where the MAF sensor goes and the inlet side where you clamp the air filter was cracked too. Installing this was easy. There are no instructions for installation. If your mechanically inclined it will be easy. I also noticed my exhaust is louder and seem to just flow very nice. I did not use the heat shield that came with it cause I just used the KN heat shield and it works with it and I didn’t want to hassle of taking it off and putting a new one. It actually works great with the kit. For the price and the quick delivery. I’m a happy camper! I also paired it up with an oil catch can. I recommend them both to have. ... show more

Pretty decent. Fits pretty well, sounds great. No instructions of course, but I didn't expect it for the price. Lots of fiddling figure out how it's supposed to go together. If you get this, make sure you take the metal plate from under your old intake off. Otherwise this intake will sit too high and hit your hood. Also, clamps for the breather hose just weren't included at all, so pick up a couple from the hardware store. Overall, it looks great, sounds great, functions as it should and after you figure it out it fits very well. I recommend it. Just be ready to tool around with it for about an hour or so to get it perfect. ... show more

This cold air intake came well packed and with everything needed for the complete installation. I definitely noticed an improvement on engine performance and it sounds great! Held up for over 2 years. The filter is easy to clean and change. The heat shield works well for keeping the hot air out. I noticed an immediate power increase. Makes you wonder if these we’re going to be expensive quality units and then it was realized the heat box portion (which holds the entire unit up in the engine bay) is entirely too tall and you cannot close your hood flush (the right side of your hood (passenger side) will be pushed up by the top of the heat box shielding. I’ve even tried removing the rubber seal for more space, no luck, I also tried using a rubber mallet to knock it down, tried bending it all does nothing. The metal is about 1/2-1” too tall. My only thought of what could fix this, take the air box tray entirely out. You remove the stock air box and then the tray it’s attached to you remove 2 bolts to mount part of the heat box shield of this kit. Try removing the entire tray when you remove the 2 bolts, take out the other 2 then remove the OEM air box mounting plate. This may just give enough space, I’ll have to take it apart again to try this but this would be the only way (other than cutting it down) to allow the hood to close flush. Otherwise surprisingly nice quality until. They must have upgraded the clamps from the previous reviews because they’re all really nice now. Makes the engine sound much more aggressive over the stock box. No power gains that I can feel. 2011 Avalanche ... show more

After installing and reinstalling a new tune on my truck gas mileage went up just a little throttle got better and got around 5 hp lol all together I’d definitely buy again it comes with a plastic cone in the tube that makes it suck air kinda hard allowing it to sound like you are cammed rip that garbage out you will damage something internally you want a cammed truck go build one like the rest of us ... show more
