The media could not be loaded. Love this new version. After hearing about this new OS, and looking more into it, I had to try it. This version addresses many of the nuances I found in my prior model. Not only is the look much cleaner, but the overall integration and execution is on point. Everything was plug and play and there are customizable settings galore. Lots of add-ons available for purchase too. Eventually I may dive down that rabbit hole. If you're looking for a good alternative to the factory radio and want a unit packed with features without breaking the bank, this is the one. Thia unit comes with support from Mekede and I can't say enough about them. They respond to emails daily and assist you with everything from setup if you need help down to any software updates that may be available. The first model I had is over 2 years old now and still works great. I will be reinstalling the old one into another work vehicle as the android auto integration is flawless. I have included a basic video walkthrough to show how well the features and factory integration works. 100% plug and play. Zero wire splicing involved in this install. My only recommendation as far as installation goes is to pay attention to the labels of the wiring which are clearly marked and put some tape on the USB connector that allows you to connect your factory USB ports in the center console. That connector will snap into the radio plug no problem, but where it joins the factory cable it can easily be pulled apart when you go to reinstall the radio into the dash. Adding a piece of tape around the connections will prevent the two plugs from coming apart when you're putting everything back into the dash. Also note, if you are using Android auto via USB cable there is more than one USB port for this radio. You will want to use the cable that is an actual USB that you have to plug into. You can leave that hanging out of the dash somewhere where you can access it. The factory ports inside the center console are not wired for the data transmission that is needed to operate Android auto unless you have the "media hub" for Android auto from the factory radios that support it. I suspect though if your factory radio does Android auto you would not be here shopping for one of these unless you were just looking for the larger screen and ability to choose your own apps.

The installation process was straightforward and took approximately 30 minutes, including the removal of the old panel and installation of the new one. While it took a moment to identify all the wiring, the overall process was smooth and user-friendly. The build quality of the unit is excellent and represents a significant upgrade from the factory-installed version. Integration with the existing system was seamless—truly a plug-and-play experience. Aesthetically, the color matches the interior perfectly, giving it an OEM look. Call quality is generally good, though I’ve received occasional feedback stating that my voice wasn't as clear on the other end. Still, the audio output is solid overall. My only notable concern is that the home, sound, and other side buttons are not illuminated in low-light conditions, making them difficult to locate while driving at night. This may be due to a setting I haven’t configured yet, and I plan to explore that further.

*EDIT* it’s Jan 31 2025. I’ve had this for LESS than a year. LESS than 10 months. And the screen just took a dump. I am mechanically gifted and I’ve checked every fuse, every connection, even the fuse in the back of the screen. Everything checks out. The screen is literally dead. You’ll see from my initial review that I was pretty underwhelmed with the product. I am a very objective person. I am not emotionally driven. This is a LEGIT review. Do NOT buy this. I’m just trying to help my fellow human. ——————————————————————— Sure it’s plug and play. Relatively easy to install. Unfortunately there are way more cons than pros. In my case, I needed a screen for the reverse camera I added so I’m in a “it’s better than no screen” situation. My biggest complaint: Bluetooth audio is an absolute joke. If it’s a YouTube video the audio is delayed about 3 seconds so nothing lines up and it’s very annoying. It’s seriously terrible. If I’m listening to music and I want to skip the next song. It won’t skip until about 5 seconds after pressing the button. And this is coming from the fancy marketing of their “8 core cpu” give me a break. Second is the radio. Simply doesn’t pick up my local station. Everything worked fine with my OEM radio. Lights don’t work on the side buttons until it’s factory scheduled time of 7pm. So I was like no big deal, I’ll switch the AM/PM system time. So when it’s 7am it will think it’s 7pm. And sure enough everything turned on and I thought it was a win. Well unfortunately when the truck is turned off it forgets everything you did. So literally every time I turn off the truck, I would have to reset the system settings. Sometimes if you’re on a call and you try to connect to CarPlay the system simply can’t do that and you’ll be stuck on the “connecting” screen forever. You have to press Home > apps > and close the CarPlay app so it starts over. Like I said; it’s an upgrade for me because I literally had nothing before. Just a standard radio. So these things are whatever… If you already have an OEM screen that works. Don’t buy this. It’s more of a head ache and you’ll notice more problems now than you had before
