Over the last 5+ years or so I have run into a variety of health issues. These issues involve most of my body including stenosis in my back, foot and leg issues and issues with one of my arms. The combination of these things has made it a very difficult task to go up and down the stairs. Since my bedroom is upstairs I try to avoid the stairs as much as possible. Most days I don’t even go down the stairs which saves me a lot of pain and frustration. By me not going downstairs though, I have to rely on my son and husband to bring me anything I may need throughout the day. Two important things I probably need more than anything during the day are cold waters to drink and insulin for my oldest cat. Now I have water bottles and my cat’s insulin in the fridge. If I had to I could deal with room temperature water, but the cat’s insulin must be refrigerated. Also there are some days where my son and husband are both out of the house at softball or basketball and I am home alone when it is time to give the cat his insulin. We have tried to figure out how to keep the insulin cold for hours so that when it is time for the insulin injection it is still cold. One of the things we have considered was to get a small fridge for the upstairs bedroom. Something small, like one of those fridges you see in a hotel. We did a lot of looking online to see what kinds of fridges were available. There are so many out there that the search actually became overwhelming. There are tons of different sizes, manufacturers, different features, colors and all price points. After weeks of looking around, we decided to go with one from a brand called Electactic. This was based on everything I just mentioned, plus the very positive user reviews. We went with a model that is a little bigger than the typical hotel fridge. Hotel fridges average just over 3 cubic feet, and this Electactic fridge is 4.5 cubic feet. It is black in color, it has a separate refrigerator and freezer section, and on top of that, the door is reversible so you can choose to have the doors open left or right, which is a great option. This is a heavy duty unit, and weighs over 56 pounds out of the box. From floor to the top, it measures 43 inches. From the front with the doors closed to the back of the unit it measures 19.5 inches. From the left to the right it measures 18.5 inches. These dimensions were virtually perfect for us and for the little nook where we wanted to install the fridge. Then on top of this, the price at only $300 made it the ideal choice for us. This Electactic refrigerator has been a dream since we started using it. The noise while it runs is very quiet, and barely noticeable. I am able to have lots of cold water bottles in there so I am never without. The insulin stays nice and cold in there too, as the adjustable temperature can be set from 32 degrees to 50 degrees. The freezer is separate and is set as low as zero degrees so whatever you want to keep frozen will definitely stay frozen. There is no wasted space in this unit, as you can store items on the doors as well as the shelves. Now if my husband and son are out of the house for an extended period of time, I will still have everything I need and everything my cats need too without having to make the painful journey downstairs. I set up this all-black refrigerator and removed the protective film from its surfaces. It has a separate freezer section on top of the fridge compartment. Its black exterior looks modern. The temperature is controlled by a knob inside the fridge, with three settings (Cold, Colder, Coldest) plus an "Off" position. As suggested by the manual, I keep it on the "Coldest" (3) setting for ice making. The manual confirms it's a real freezer for long-term food storage, and it does keep my frozen vegetables solid. I haven't had to adjust the leveling legs, as my floor is even. The all-white interior has three removable glass shelves and a ventilated storage bin at the bottom. The bottom glass shelf doubles as a lid for the storage bin. The freezer door has one storage bin, while the fridge door has three. There is a white LED light inside the fridge but none in the freezer. The manual doesn't mention it, but I can see the door hinges are reversible by unscrewing and swapping sides. Mine came with the hinges on the right. The freezer is quite large relative to the fridge. My measurements put the internal freezer space at about 14.2 inches deep, 13.8 inches wide, and 7.5 inches high. The overall unit dimensions from the manufacturer's tag are 18 1/2" (W) x 18 1/2" (D) x 42 5/8" (H), which closely matches my measurements of about 42.5 inches tall, 18.5 inches deep, and 18.25 inches wide. The unit has a net weight of 55.45 lbs. For maintenance, I have to manually defrost. The manual instructs to defrost every three months or when frost builds to about 1/4 inch. I plan to do this by placing towels to absorb the moisture before turning it back on. The manufacturer's tag specifies it uses R600a refrigerant (1.23oz/35g) and Cyclopentane foaming. The fridge and freezer reach cold enough temps to store frozen and refrigerated foods according to my thermometer. I find that valuable. It's rated for 115V~60Hz with a rated current of 1.3A. And it's much quieter than my regular sized fridge. The tag shows it is certified for safety (Conforms to UL STD. 60335-1 & -2-24, Certified to CSA STD. C22 2 No. 60335-1 & -2-24) and is made in China. It is clearly marked for FREE-STANDING INSTALLATION ONLY.

This fridge arrived VERY well packaged and boxed with extra packing straps. The box states that if the fridge has been lying on its side, it needs to be upright for at least 4 hours before turning it on. I ordered this fridge as an upgrade from a small mini fridge with a teeny freezer section to this beautiful 2-door fridge freezer model. I love all the extra space. I can now stock up on some frozen foods instead of going to the store so frequently. The quality appears excellent. I appreciate the black exterior and not stainless steel, which I would have to keep clean from fingerprints. The doors are reversible, so it can open right or left. The shelves are clear, and there is ample room on the door, shelves, and produce trays in the bottom. I don't notice the fridge being loud at all. For $299, this is a great deal for a small fridge for an apartment, studio, garage, home office, man cave, or any other place you want to keep some drinks and food chilled.
