There is anything bad I can say about this coffee maker. It looks good. It has a black and chrome body that shines. The internal parts are well made and easy to remove and clean. The programming is the seller!! It’s user friendly, allows you to set a timer, waking up to a steaming pot, and if you want strong or regular coffee. I did find the carafe to be really thin so I would watch out for that. And it’s a steal! The price is perfect. It also has a 4 hour warmer.

This coffee maker produces really good coffee. It came with a mesh coffee strainer which I was not expecting but was a nice touch. It has many features that I will never use since I just turn on the machine when I want coffee and then put it away when I don't need to make any. As is the case when making any type of coffee, the grinder is the most important thing as it has the greatest impact to flavor. Buy a good quality grinder and this coffee maker will reward you with great coffee.

The media could not be loaded. When you first plug it in the clock blinks 12 and that reminded me of the old VCRs. So that’s not great. When I first added the water and turned it on and shut the lid it started brewing on its own. Then after it went into keep warm and never shut off. I have other products from this brand that are very good but this one seems like it’s a prototype and needs a lot of refinement. Sorry but I would not get again due to the buttons, interface and design. However the coffee it made was pretty good. So it’s a good coffee maker but it’s the interface that’s outdated and confusing. I judge coffee products very strictly as the bar is high for me. Redesign the interface and you’d have a 4-5 star product. What I also don’t understand is why it auto brews, why the warm stays on, and why steam comes out of the back when it’s done.

There are many good attributes to this coffee maker. Being able to adjust the brew strength is a great option. The 4 hour shut is a great one too. My husband had been forgetting to turn the old one off. He's also impatient for his coffee first thing in the morning, so he's always pouring a cup before it's finished brewing. This coffee maker seems to be better at preventing the messy drips while he has the carafe out. Thumbs for this Empstorm coffee maker.
