it's not a lamp or a light. It's a light fixture that requires wiring to a base that supplies electricity. It has no switch or cord to plug into anything like i've seen when googling. This might be due to my particular package. the box was opened, nothing was sealed in plastic, the remote was missing the protective plastic you pull out prior to using and the bottom of the unit was missing. I returned mine. I hope i get my refund. I noticed other reviews indicated they were not refunded. ... show more
