I have a short section of Pellet stove vent pipe whose joints never really sealed perfectly. I could smell just a tiny amount of exhaust. Never enough to even trigger any smoke alarms.     • Work does expected
A plumber replaced our hot water heater and did not seal the joint for the flu. This tape worked well to seal that. We use the additional tape to seal joints on our heater that had been replaced recently.

    • It might be good for high heat, but it doesn't have good adhesion even to itself.
I taped the seams in my flue stack, and sadly after a week, I can see that the tape isn't maintaining adhesion. I feel like I will need to add additional tape.
