Description

Whole house water filter systems are great solutions to help protect your pipes and appliances as well as offer you great tasting drinking water from anywhere in the home. The 3M Aqua-Pure AP900 Series Whole House Sanitary Quick Change Water Filter Systems are the industry's first Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) whole house system. The AP902 contains filter media that helps reduce sediment. These systems are referred to as point-of- entry (POE) systems and are installed downstream from the water meter or well pump. Maintenance of a whole-house water filter system is as simple as a simple quarter turn of the 3M Aqua-Pure AP910R Replacement Water Filter Cartridge or placing a service call with your local plumbing professional. 1" stainless steel inlet and outlet connections provide easy installation for a plumbing professional and peak flow rates up to 20 gpm to meet the needs of residential applications. The innovative Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) design, an industry first for this application, allows for fast and easy cartridge change-outs without having to contact the filter media or the need for a filter wrench. The AP902 is manufactured with a head assembly that includes an integral mounting bracket. The 304 stainless steel head can be installed on existing copper pipes in the home. It consists of a corrosion resistant material that provides long service life. The stainless steel head comes with a 25 year limited warranty. Tested and verified by manufacturer's laboratory. Replace every 12 months, at 100,000 gallons of use, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow occurs. From the Manufacturer The AP902 Aqua Pure Whole House Filter System provides whole house filtration at a 20 gallons per minute (gpm) flow rate. This system is ideally for larger homes and light commercial applications and is manufactured from FDA CFR-21 compliant materials. The housing includes a mounting bracket and has a stainless steel head with a locking latch and uses Aqua Pure AP910R for a replacement filter which is included.

I'm writing this an hour after installing the filter. We have well water that is fairly hard. Immediately after installing the filter, the smell we used to get is nearly gone. Even the hot water that used to smell quite bad sometimes is much, much better. As for rust, time will tell how well it works for that. I'll try to remember to update this review in a few months. I removed our old softener and replaced with this in hopes that I won't need a softener at all. As for assembly and installation, the necessary hardware cost me about $90 so budget that into your expenses. I used plastic valves and flexible water line in lieu of copper. Easier to work with and less expensive. UPDATE: After having the filter in place for a few weeks now, our water is still much better than before. It does not appear that it will work for rust however. After thoroughly cleaning the shower wall, rust streaks started to appear again after about a week. I'm still happy with the filter as it has improved our water but in our case, it unfortunately doesn't seem to be doing anything for rust. ... show more

Clear, Clean water at last! We live in a beach area and the houses, like mine, are pretty old. I've seen dates for my house between 1932 & 1938. So, the plumbing is probably very old and has some residue, like iron, in it. I had Culligan come to my house and test the water as I have a Culligan filter that only removes chlorine. Fortunately, my water tested OK. I had thought that it was a whole house filter like this one. It wasn't. Culligan wanted about $1750 to install one of their whole house filer systems and frankly, we just can't afford that. And so, I started some online research and discovered AquaPure whole house filters. This does a great job and now I don't have to let the water run, or constantly clean the toilets to get rid of the rust-colored stain. I bout the AP902 because it will accept the AP917 HD-S filter which will also filter out scale. It doesn't come with that filter but it does come with the filer just under it. I think it's the AP 17-HD. I didn't realize that the AP904 comes with the AP 917 HD-S filter or I would have bought that filter system. This system is rated for up to 100,000 gallons of water which, for 2 people should last a lot longer than a year, but I will change the filter yearly, as recommended. In my research, there were people who complained about OTHER BRANDS of filters reducing water pressure but thankfully, we haven't noticed any drop in the W.P. I would definitely recommend this filter to anyone who needs a reasonably priced whole house system. I think other systems tend to be over priced and the user ratings were not nearly as high as for the AquaPure line. ... show more

Don’t buy this as shown. My package arrived without the filter head(only the cartridge). After contacting the seller and sending pictures I was contacted and it appears it is sold as a cartridge only. Pretty expensive for that. Asked for a refund.

I had a well put in and it has 1.5 ppm iron which has some pretty good color to it once the ferrous iron develops. After installing this filter I estimate it took out about half the iron. It can't get out the ferrous iron which would require using something like manganese greensand. It brought the water to a more useable level, but I still use iron out in the toilet and shower and white out for laundry. It was fairly easy to install. I had a regular sediment filter already which has a shut off valve and my water line is 3/4". Used bushings on this filter to reduce the 1" outlets to match the 3/4" water line, then nipples and flexible water hose on one side and pex fittings on the other side with shut off ball valve. Installation was easy. It requires a 1" inlet and outlet, some plumbing modification may be required. This is a very well made product. Changing filters is quite simple. Since installing this filter our water is crystal clear with no sediment or odor. Have only had this filter for about a month so don't know yet how long these filters will last, but so far so good. This product seems well worth the money. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants good clean water. ... show more

It has 0 chemicals in my water after having it installined earlier in the week. I'm happy. Our city water registers in the 400's, and to see it does the same as Zerowater takes it to zero. I'm impressed and looking forward to showers that aren't making me sick.

3/4 inch fittings are common in almost all house feed supply. Why on earth this is made with 1 inch connections is beyond me, sure you can easily buy fittings and reduce but for a while home filter I would expect fittings to be standard. It is adequate for what it is, no way it will work the stated time and capacity, all of these are fiber with carbon filter and then finer fiber. The activated carbon alone will be inactive after 40000 gallons. ... show more
