I have been a toms of maine guy for years. No matter the cost i always buy their flouride-free toothpaste. I ran out this time and needed some immediately! Since tom has lost his daggum mind on price i decided to go with the whole foods brand. I am so impressed with this. The only difference in the two is that the texture is ever so slightly different and the taste of the whole foods seems to have baking soda in it. BUT my breath is just as fresh. Tastes gross but my teeth are looking much healthier. Of course my dentist is upset I stopped using fluoride but oh well

I try to use fluoride-free products whenever possible, based on a knowledgeable and respected dentist who is an international authority on the use/misuse of fluoride in our society. A relative who is a Nutritionist said to be careful about reading all the ingredients, and this tube is no exception. It seems like the toothpastes have either sulfates (carcinogens) or carrageenan (inflammation agents) in them. They both taste a bit "off," though not unpleasant. ... show more
