I've gone through at least 3 more expensive seats this year. Finally I said screw it i'll just get a cheap one. Boy was I surprised to find out this one is higher quality than other seats that are almost triple the price. IT COMES WITH METAL SCREWS. If you understand how important that is then you know this seat is quality. It screws in easily and tightly and DOESN'T MOVE AN INCH! On top of all that it's actually comfortable as well. You can't beat it for the price. From the pics you can also see that it will accommodate having a bidet attached as well with no problems. Get this. ... show more

    • Mounting system is awful - you will never get it tight.

Believe the other poor reviews! I thought I could just be careful and make it work - and sort of did, but I definitely regret the purchase. Now, if you are still not convinced it is an inferior product, then read on for the details... 1 - The plastic nuts that are on the bottom side of the toilet strip out waaay to easily. The toilet lid was nowhere near tight enough to hold in place when one of mine stripped out (as others have complained). I got around that by re-using my mounting nuts from my old Kohler lid. 2 - On the top side, where the screw is held - the mechanism is pure garbage. When you tighten down the screws, the mounting brackets spreads out and deforms (again, before the lid is even secured). I needed a second person to squeeze the plastic together while I tightened to get around this. All in all, it makes me wonder if Kohler ever actually tried this? I love the top notch quality of their actual toilets and sinks, but this lid is awful. Seriously, don't be lured into the low price thinking you are getting a deal - whatever price you pay for it is money down the toilet! See what I did there? ;) ... show more

This is a perfect replacement seat if you need something quick and affordable. The entire product is plastic, but in my opinion it is not flimsy at all as some others have pointed out. I weigh about 215-pounds and if I sit directly on the front cover flap it does not bend at all. The seat itself is comfortable, and fit perfectly (we ordered the round front). The cover flap on ours laid perfectly against the back of the toilet when raised. I have seen some other reviews that stated the cover flap does not extend all the way to the back of the toilet, preventing the user from leaning all the way back while seated; this was not the case for us. The product also comes with two rubber feet inserts for underneath the seat portion, so that when seated the product is stationary and will not move. From the time I opened the box to the time I completed installing, about four-minutes had lapsed; it is super easy to install! That time span does not include removing the original seat and cleaning the toilet before installing the new one. If you combine those steps then you are still only looking at about a 12-15 minute install - very quick. ... show more

I have four toilets in my home that are almond color. Finding almond colored toilet seats is not necessarily difficult but not that easy either. From one manufacture to another the color can vary. I originally purchased wood toilet seats in an almond color from Home Depot. The color matched my toilets perfectly. The problem is the seats became discolored over time from cleaning. The discoloration actually made it look as if I never cleaned them. Which of course annoyed me because I keep a pretty clean house and the idea that it looked like I didn't clean my toilets properly was bothering me to ninth degree. After buying these wooden seats a couple of times I finally decided to switch to plastic seats. The reason I had not before is because the color was always off. But, I took a risk with these Kohler and I'm glad I did. The color matches perfectly and the seat isn't a flimsy plastic seat either. I purchased the elongated seats and they fit my toilets perfectly. They are pretty simple to install. But I do like the mounting systems of the previous brand better. Especially considering that I could lift the toilet seats off without have to unscrew anything. I've not had them long enough to determine if cleaning them will create the issue I had with the wooden seats, but I don't think it will. I tend to wipe my toilet seats down with cleaning sheets several times a week (almost daily), with the wooden seats the discoloration started within weeks of installing them. I'm hoping that won't be the case with these. I'm also hoping they maintain their luster as well. The finish of these make them look more like the toilet than the wooden ones did. So, initially, I'm very pleased with the product. Trust me, if that changes, I'll update this review. ... show more

I bought our first one 2 years ago. When I received it I wasn't sure about the quality because it is a light weight plastic. But I recently ordered our 2nd one, for our master bath toilet, because not only has the first one held up so well, we found that it doesn't accumulate odor over time like the heavier traditional toilet seats do! You will come to love the hinge design that doesn't allow urine to go behind the seat. It will eliminate A LOT of odors that traditional toilet seats carry over time and use! Warning, you may, at first, think that it was a mistake buying this but hang in there you'll see what I mean. It really is MUCH more sanitary than the one that you have now! Oh, and I have worked for the world's largest Airline for 42 years and there is a reason that All aircraft have this same type seat! ... show more
