  • GREAT KITa
Color: nature
I lost my partials and the VA would not replace them. I am crafty so I bit the bullet. I took my time read the instructions and casted my mold. (THE PLASTER MOLD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!!) Do it right! After playing with hot watter bla bla bla..I decided to go witb a small blow torch lighter. Melted the gum material and slapped some of the teeth it came with...WOW! A near perfect fit! Better than my originals that I lost. I can now smile with out being embarrased. I got my confidence back! WORTH IT! ... show more

  • Don’t do it
Color: nature
Not happy. The cast cracked when I took it off the tray. There was only one bag of the powder to make two casts. The instructions said there should be two. Then the pink stuff for the gums doesn’t fit around the cast right. We used the smallest tray to make the mold and even that was too big. I had my sister who is a dental hygienist and has made impressions many times help me. This was a waste of money I wasn’t even looking for perfection. I just wanted something to put in when I had to go out to the store or doctors appointments. I am not happy ... show more

  • Patience required!
Color: nature
Ended up getting two of these to get what I wanted but if you’re not crafty and artistic in any way, do not get this. You have to have patience, and really know what you’re doing with this. After the first kit ran out from so many samples, I ended up getting the second one and knew exactly what I was looking for. Took me about three episodes of LOST to get it right but it came out wonky and too thin. Great for a quick smile replacement but not to eat with. At least not for me. ... show more

  • Very fragile and can’t find replacement supplies
Color: nature
It’s kind of difficult to make these. I had to watch the videos multiple times and pause them then start again. The molds ripped when I took them out of the frames. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to take them out? That part was unclear. The gums pieces do not need to sit in hot water for as long as the video says. Mine softened to the point of sticking to themselves and ripping when I took them out of the water. Now I have to find more of the blue and white putty and more of the gums pieces so I can try again but I can’t find those things. So I have a denture kit sitting on a shelf in the closet but I can’t do anything with it. And I have no teeth still. ... show more

  • FULL TRUTH REAL REVIEW (Not A.I.)
Color: nature
QUICK SUMMARY: Great delivery experience, good quality teeth and mold making materials, challenging directions with a learning curve to build accurately, very helpful customer service (ask for Steve), and usable dentures in the end. FULL SUMMARY - BACKGROUND: My partner had many of her lower molers removed last year and now that she has healed we wanted to get her dentures to be able to chew again. Insurance said they don't cover partial dentures because it is merely cosmetic, so we opted to take it into our own hands. After researching, we found the DentureWay DIY kit to get a good deal, and decided to go for it. SHIPPING: After purchase on Amazon, shipping was fast, and the package arrived in nice packaging and in good condition, with all pieces that were described. DIRECTIONS: Let's just say the printed directions are challenging. We had to read multiple times but regardless felt pretty confident to start building even though it was slightly tough. Other people's reviews said to watch videos online by DentureWay and it was helpful to follow that also. I think the directions could use some work by the company, to make them more easy to follow and understandable in general. The wording does not seem in completely "normal" English. There are images, but sort of hard to see them or tell which part of the directions are refering to that image. The biggest complaint is that they said "don't worry, you can take your time after mixing the stone mix mortar" but it actually started drying quite quickly and resulted in a cast that was not smooth or fully accurate. It also should state to make the cast thick enough, because the material can be brittle if too thin. 1st BUILD ATTEMPT: MAKING THE MOLD OF TEETH: After lining up all materials and choosing teeth from the multiple teeth color choices, we were ready, and began to mix the blue and white puddy together to make a mold of her teeth. After a couple minutes setting on her teeth, the blue mold form got stuck to itself and bridged between the spaces in her teeth near the gums. This made removing the mold very difficult and we struggled for a bit to get it off. After it was removed, we realized the bridging between the teeth and reached out to customer service about the issue. They replied and mentioned that a thin plastic wrap (Saran Wrap) over the teeth before inserting into the mold could be helpful. (It was helpful on 2nd attempt.) Note** people with receding gums should use plastic wrap before inserting the mold into your mouth to prevent bridging. MAKING THE STONE CAST: The directions were decent for this with accurate mixing ratio, but did not describe that the mix should mound up higher than the blue mold of the teeth, for increased strength. We learned that the hard way, and the cast stone was made too thin, and broke trying to remove from the blue mold material. We used the other provided bag of stone mix to make a thicker imprint, which worked, but then we did not have enough to cast the teeth on top which would help to accurately align to the lower teeth and show her true full mouth bite imprint. After contacting customer service and asking for another bag of stone dust to finish, they sent another kit which gave us what we needed to finish. BUILDING THE DENTURE: The gum material is pretty interesting, becoming soft after boiled in water and can mold really nicely to the stone cast. You will need to cut with scissors when soft to make a partial, and positioning them to work with the existing teeth takes a bunch of imagination and testing. Note*** The best thing about the gums material is that it can be re-melted and you try to do it better another time. So it's semi-forgiving, but we learned that if re-softened with the teeth within the gums, the teeth begin to slightly sink lower into the gums each time. Try to Get close by round 3 or 4 for the least amount of issues. We also found that you can-resoften only portions of the denture by lowering only part of the denture into the boiling water, to fine tune just a portion. 2nd BUILD ATTEMPT: After receiving what we needed to finish, we made a 2nd attempt to have a quality result. I will say, it got easier to do and starting over felt like a good move in our case. A lot was learned from round 1, and it showed in the 2nd round result. The fit still needed to be adjusted 3 times to accurately fit. The final adjustment, we decided to te-soften just the front of the gum material that went between both sides and instead of using the cast, we threw out into her avian mouth and allowed it to harden in her mouth instead. Unclear if I would recommend that action to everyone, but hey, we got lucky maybe?? It worked out and we ended up with something usable. END RESULT: a labor-of-love made a workable denture that did not cost us a lot of money and we learned lots in the process. We may decide to even make another set with the extra gum material and teeth that were provided in different colors. TIME INVESTED: To be real, this is no easy endeavor, but being an artist who works with my hands and building/sculpture experience a true plus here. Many trials were made and basically both attempts amounted to around 8 or 9 total hours invested. I actually enjoyed learning about it all though, but some people may not have the patience or skill to pull this off, yet maybe they could ask a talented friend to try??? OVERALL/ REFERRAL: Overall, being up for a challenge is the attitude you will need, and being confident and positive through the process will pay off. If you don't believe in yourself or your skills creating something, then don't bother maybe. I would refer this to people who need Debbie's and can't afford it and have the time and willingness to try for themselves or a relative. It ended up being a good gift to give my partner. ... show more

  • Best Diy kit ever purchased
Color: nature
Best Diy kit I have ever purchased and simple video and instructions. I do use a drummel to shape the gum part when finished and I dip them in boiling water after they have harden and removedfrom mold for 1 sec and put them in and gentle press them around gum and upper mouth to get a perfect fit around gums . I haven't worn bottoms in over a year due to them being so uncomfortable these literally feel like my own teeth on bottom I have a lot of bone damage due to radiation these are amazing to fit them in mouth. I also do have a lot of practice making these for ppl over the years but it comes with 2 sets . The mold for gums to set your teeth in was by far the easiest and best one I have ever used and looks like my real gums. ... show more
