  • Great product!
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I love this night guard! I knew I had a problem with clenching my teeth at night, and my dentist recommended I buy a bite splint to help with any jaw pain I was experiencing. I didn't believe it would help but bought one anyway. The first bite splint I bought was impossible to sleep in. The fit wasn't right, and I couldn't adjust it easily. Because of this, I kept gagging and couldn't fall asleep. There was no way I was going to be able to sleep in it. The Doctor's NightGuard is different. It is very simple to mold, and the process is pretty quick and very easy. The fit on my teeth ends up being perfect and pretty comfortable. You still have to adjust to having a block of plastic surrounding your teeth, but it's.fairly thin, and I found it easy to adjust to. After wearing this night guard for a while, I learned I not only had a problem with clenching but with grinding, as well. How did I figure this out? Because I was wearing down the plastic! However, even after 1 1/2 - 2 years of almost nightly wear, I never broke through. The fit stayed great that entire time. I recently bought a new guard (same brand) due to a piece breaking off the back of the guard (the "gooey" innards went beyond the harder plastic edging since I have a small mouth). Don't worry, though - it wasn't something I could have choked on. I bit and played with that plasticky part, and then ripped it off with my hands. The instructions state that you can simply cut off these elongated pieces with a knife. ... show more

  • Difficult to do correctly
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I ordered one of these about 12 years ago and have used it ever since. This is a completely different product. It didn’t mold to my teeth well, it’s kind of floppy and ill shaped. It’s bulky and uncomfortable. It was very unclear how to correctly install. It’s difficult to get the edges pushed up correctly or even to find the edges at first. I’ll have to throw it away. ... show more

  • Very sturdy
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
Not your typical mouth guard that when you boil it -it shrinks so badly. This one does not get like that and the bottom part stays flat.

  • Works as a bottom teeth night guard too!
Size: 6x5x4 Inch (Pack of 1)
My dentist made me a night guard about a year ago for bruxism. I hated wearing it because my teeth would adjust over the night and in the morning, my front teeth would touch together but my back teeth wouldn't! I don't know if this was just one old dentist or if that's normal, but I found it intolerable that I couldn't chew my breakfast. After many adjustments, it finally got to the point where I could wear it regularly, and shortly after that, it broke one night in my mouth and I woke up with a terrible headache from grinding on it while it was broken all night. My family is full of dentists, but I live too far away for any of them to make me a night guard and get it adjusted. Enter the Doctor's Night Guard. I was skeptical, but this thing has worked like a dream for the last five months. My teeth feel fine in the morning (does that mean I'm better at doing this than the actual dentist?!) and I really miss it if I don't wear it. It fits well, although it's not long enough for the hard plastic part to cover my farthest back teeth (and I don't have any wisdom teeth either). The softer plastic that you can mold does cover them, though I don't think it will last as long this way. About four months in, however, I started finding little bits of plastic in my mouth in the morning. The thing needs to be replaced. It makes me worry about BPAs and whatever the heck is in this plastic (I don't know!) and whether or not it's safe to chew on soft plastic every night for years on end. I guess it's better than grinding my teeth down to nothing or finding another dentist who can make me one that would also be of questionable plastic and may or may not fit right and may or may not be covered by my insurance. At this price, I don't mind replacing the DIY version every few months for now. Note: Though the instructions say that this is for your top teeth only, I made a bottom night guard. My dentist relatives suggest that these tend to be easier to get right, because if a top night guard doesn't fit right, it starts moving around the bones in your head and has more potential to cause jaw problems and headaches. It works just fine on my bottom teeth! My only real complaint is that it's a little short for my mouth and that I'm suspicious of the health effects of the soft rubber layer. I'm not sure yet if I'll replace my current one with the same one or if I'll try the "classic" version which appears to be all hard plastic, or if I'll try another brand. ... show more
