  • Works but slow
Our rv repair tech told us to get this when our previous awning motor quit working. It came quick and installation was ok. The rivets were very hard to work with, as mentioned in a previous review. The motor does the job, just really slow.

  • Excellent quality
Install was easy, as long as you’re not using your grandpa’s rusty rivet gun from 1973. Drilled out the old rivets, slapped the new one in, and with a decent rivet gun, it went on smoother than my uncle’s dance moves at a wedding. It’s been installed for several months now and hasn’t budged, still rock solid. Just don’t cheap out on the tool or you’ll be wrestling it like a greased pig at a county fair. ... show more

  • Seems well made and has a manual nut if the motor fails
Quite happy with this so far. This type motor is an upgrade from my original awning motor. The old motor does not have the manual nut that can be used in the event of a motor failure. That has bothered me since we got the camper because I was always afraid it would fail while the awning was out and I would not be able to get it back in. I mean, that is when it will fail...it won't fail while the awning is in. And if it did, it would be a little disappointing, but it would not be much of a real issue. But my luck is it will fail while the awning is out and there is a storm with high winds approaching. Oh great!!! When I saw this unit, I ordered it. We plan to take some extended vacations now that we are retired. So I also want to have a spare...just in case. While I do not have it installed (the camper is in storage right now). I have put this on my workbench and operated it. It runs smoothly and fairly quietly. The finish looks good with no casting burrs or jagged edges and the motor finish looks good as well. I have also tested the manual drive nut and that works great too. I can be less worried to use the awning now. Yes, something else about it can break and fail. But I am not worried about the motor any longer. Because even it it does fail, I can bring it in by hand (or battery powered drill). ... show more
