I hadn't noticed that the rope is 16ft long -- 8ft per side. The tow harness that I currently have is about half that size. I don't know what I think about the 16ft length. On one hand, one of the biggest complaints that I have with my current harness is that it drags in the water right behind the motor and causes spray. I expect the longer harness will trail further back and might eliminate some of that spray. My current harness doesn't have a float. I always need the spotter to watch the rope to make sure it's not near the motor. I expect the float will eliminate some of that. However, the extra length might also mean that I sill need to have the spotter watch the rope. The rope for the harness isn't round. It appears to be more flat, so it doesn't want to ride the pully. Instead, it tends to ride the edges of the pully. This might resolve itself -- it might become more rounded as the harness gets used. It might also result in extra wear on the harness. The rope itself is a very good quality. It appears that I can modify the harness fairly easily to be whatever length I prefer. The pully is also a very good quality. My current harness has plastic parts that have worn and are damaged easily. This appears that it will hold up to a lot of abuse. ... show more

Worked , but I found it to be somewhat cheaply made ! I received my package last week and found it to be a decent product I did think it was a little flimsy , but definitely usable and I did like that it came with a very nice carrying bag to store it in my boat I would give it 4 stars !
