First, this is NOT the usual handheld popular system for less. It is DIFFERENT. I got this for our nieces, nephews and grandchildren when they come over to have an extra something to do. It doesn’t compare to today’s gaming systems or handheld systems even though bearing a resemblance. But I didn’t buy it for that reason anyway. The sides are permanently attached which could be a good thing. My older kids(adults now) called it cheesy but picked it up to play. And you do have to just figure out what to do with each button on your own. But kids just naturally do that right? I DO LOVE that it came with preloaded with so many games. You don’t have to download or pay for any other games. Plus, NO ADS! It came pre-loaded with a battery ready to go. It also takes 3- AAA’s. Nice to have both options. And, it came with a usb charging cable too. It does have so many different classic games like “happy” instead of flappy. Fighter game similar to street fighter and so on. I loved the educational part that gives younger ones the opportunity to learn letters numbers, hidden pictures memory and more. All in all, I do give 5 stars because it is genuine wholesome fun for younger ones or super old school people like a (grandma like me).

This simple rechargeable offline handheld game is a good deal. There are so many games, mostly sports, puzzles and aiming games. The instructions explain the rules for charging and using a lithium battery device well. But they didn’t really give detailed instructions like how to turn left on the driving game. I think most kids could figure it out. I expected my upper elementary son to be the one using this, but my high school son snagged it first to play chess on a long bus trip. Interestingly, he said it was easy to win the chess game, so it wasn’t a very advanced chess bot, or maybe just designed for beginners. He didn’t get to try many of the other games, because the game disappeared! I don’t know if it was stolen by other kids or by his little brother or fell out of the bag. Anyway, apparently it is attractive to that age. The little brother saw it and asked if it was a switch 2. If you just want your kids to have access to some games while traveling, I would recommend it. Also good if you would like to avoid the chain brand games with their constant upgrades and things to buy. There are no ads on this device. It can also be run on AAA batteries if you prefer. The graphics reminded me of a wii sports type game and were in color.

So this is not my first cheaper or budget console. The first thing I did was look at all the titles, try some games and promptly take it apart! PS, if you don’t hear sound out of what looks like it would be the speaker it’s because it’s on the other side! It still works fine and as it was designed. I was surprised that it was constructed pretty well for the price, even ribbon cables inside had a little tape and were very snug even without them. Some wires were a little delicate or thin but everything worked and it survived shipping and me taking it apart. I did expect to see a removable memory card immediately but I did not, this could have been on the other side but I believe it’s soldered to the board, the device also wasn’t immediately recognized as a storage device when plugged into the computer, so know that what games are on it are probably all that will be on it. But for what it is, they were okay games really. As kinda expected, the buttons are much more tactile or clicky, unlike something like gameboy. Kind of expected at this price point. As simple as it’s constructed, and that it takes a common removable battery that could be replaced means you could use this for quite a while. It looks like they just adapted an old design to get away from traditional batteries but it works fine. I think it would last too as long as it doesn’t get wet, I don’t see this particular one doing so well if dropped in a puddle but who knows. As for the games! Some titles were actually pretty fun, despite being someone who loves seeing familiar games from the 90s. You won’t see anything like pokemon, street fighter or any well known things on this! Which is why I looked into the games so much.. I am used to seeing games with really inappropriate things hidden in them on these budget consoles.. by my standards this one actually was better than expected. I only found one possibly questionable thing in a single game when testing, that being a character in “mini fighter” named Saline that appears to have a severe wardrobe malfunction with her upper chest. I had to confirm with 3 others I was indeed seeing what I was seeing, with that said, I highly doubt most people would even notice this and being that it’s more pixelated, there’s a lot lacking. It still is worth noting when it specifies ages 3+. PS, it’s a pretty fun title to play, it is reminiscent of street fighter really. Aside from that single game mishap, there’s confusion around the console itself, with advertising uncertainty around 16bit and 32bit.. but the games look good and there are plenty of them to try. A kid not set on specific titles would have fun with it. I think it’s worth it if your expectations are in the right place! It’s built well, plenty to play, no swapping batteries, but you will have the games you have and they will probably all be new to you!

So while this can't really compare to a gaming console along the lines of day a Switch/Switch 2, as far as affordable handheld video game systems go this is actually quite good. The graphics aren't bad, the plethora of various games provide ample entertainment without getting bored and also without having to purchase new individual games since the console comes loaded with over 200 already (saving you even more money). The audio is good, the interactive compass on the back is a fun bonus, and it's easy to use and control. It looks similar to the expensive ones like Switch for example so that even if that price tag isn't affordable the owner of this handheld can feel included. I myself got distracted on it multiple times trying out some of the games simply because of how fun they were and how many different ones there were to play. I also appreciated that there were good brain games in the mix, so in addition to the mortal combat style game there's also a bunch of puzzle games and problem solving games as well as games for nearly every sport you can think of. If the alternative is sitting your kid down with a tablet, I'd definitely prefer them having this system because I'm certain it would be more beneficial and probably more fun too. I highly recommend it and again enough can't be said about what you get for how little it costs, which is just great.
