Being able to power a standard-sized refrigerator during a power outage was my main goal, after I discovered that my expensive portable battery station could not do it, because it could not handle the 1600 watt surge. The power ratings of this inverter should handle that easily...and it did! To test this, I simply used the supplied cables to connect the inverter to my truck battery (thicker cables would be better for prolonged maximum loads). Turned it on and it showed 12.4 d/c volts in and 119 a/c volts out. Started the truck and it showed 14.3 volts (because of the alternator), with a steady 115 volt output. Plugged in a 50 ft. extension cord from refrigerator. When compressor kicked in, voltage dropped to 13.9 or14 volts, still putting out 115. Let it run awhile, like10 minutes, with no problems. Turned truck off. It even kept my Whirlpool refrigerator going with the truck off! The battery dropped voltage while doing this, down to 11.9 volts (118 output), staying there for several minutes which is when I shut it off to avoid excessive battery discharge. You would normally want the vehicle running, of course, but you would only have to do this for maybe 15-20 minutes or so every few hours to keep a refrigerator/freezer cold, depending on how much you open the doors. Similarly, this inverter setup will power a room air conditioner or a portable heater on low settings. And, in another challenge that my expensive power station failed, it easily powered both low and high settings on a hair dryer. This inverter hits the sweet spot of temporarily providing enough power for critical household functions during an outage - it seems that greater power would be wasted, unless you also invested in a large battery bank. I'm going to see if I can leave it hooked up and under my vehicle's hood (let's not overlook the wired remoter control unit also provided!), with an extension plug poking right out of the grille where you can reach it easily. Don't overlook the practical applications of being able to power tools anywhere you want, like a leaf blower, an angle grinder, even a compound saw, all from your vehicle's expanded power capacity! That's what this inverter can do. And for longer and more cheaply than portable battery stations. A good deal! ... show more

We bought this because we weren’t sure if the power would go out during the snow and ice storm we had.. and i didn’t want to invest in a generator that i may or may not have used.. so i decided to go with this , it runs off of your vehicles battery. You obviously leave your car running, so that it doesn’t drain your battery or alternator, but it worked. we didn’t need it, but i’m still going to keep it in case we ever have an emergency where the power goes out, i think it’s good to have. it would max out at 2 space heaters from what i understand. Didn’t try it with 2 but i did try it with one space heater and it worked great. ... show more

Bought inverter for my Freightliner truck and it works amazing. It was easy to install and comes with everything you need, I have a small fridge, an air fryer and a tv connected to the inverter and haven’t had an issue. It is also very quiet and the on/off attachment comes in handy.

    • A Disappointing Purchase: Avoid This Power Inverter

I'm extremely disappointed with this power inverter. I bought it for my RV solar system but it's been a total letdown. The thing feels cheaply made and the LCD display is tiny and hard to read. The remote control is flimsy and doesn't seem very reliable. The performance has been subpar to say the least. The output voltage is all over the place and it can't handle the power requirements of my appliances. I've had to shut it down multiple times due to errors on the LCD display. For the price, I expected a lot more. The2 AC outlets and2.4A USB port are nice features, but they're not enough to make up for the inverter's poor performance. I've had to go back to using my old generator for reliable power. Overall, I would not recommend this power inverter to anyone. It's a waste of money and you would be better off looking elsewhere for a reliable product. The build quality is subpar and the performance is inconsistent. This inverter was perfect for a semi and works well. If you dont get it on the charger just right it doesn't charge so make sure you place it correctly and you will be happy with the product! Instalation was easy , everything works, high power runs plenty of things at once! Highly recommend!!
