This Leriton 30 Pcs beekeeping kit contains many useful tools. Some items are great and some items are not so great. A beginner beekeeper will need hive tools and a smoker as the very essential tools. There are 3 hive tools in the kit, one standard tool, one J-hook tool and one larger tool with a J-hook. These are all good for starters. The smoker is not so great. The bellows is not leather, but I don’t know what the material is. There is a rolled piece of metal, like a pipe, inserted through the opening in the smoker chamber. I would not recommend any kind of pipe leading out to the bellows because the bellows can catch on fire. The pipe is removable. There is a circular grate at the bottom with tabs that should be folded out before use. This will help getting oxygen to the smoker. There is a boardman type feeder with a perforated mason jar lid in the kit. The mason jar lid holes are rough and there are metal remnants from the punched out holes. It needs cleaning and finishing before use. There is also a plastic feeder/waterer with a jar included, and a small plastic feeder that fits on plastic bottles. There are tools for honey harvesting, such as uncapping tool and fork, uncapping knife with both sides serrated, and a nylon honey filter that fits on a 5 gallon bucket. A standard honey gate is also included. Some tools are not used by all beekeepers, such as spur embedder for wax foundation, but it is good to have in the tool kit. There are also two plastic queen cages in the box, as well as two plastic queen clips. Further there is a queen marking tube that works pretty good. Then there are frame grips that seem to be included in all beekeeping tool kits. Some people use them. There are also two frame holders that are very flimsy. You will likely drop the frame if trying to use them. I would recommend taking them to a welding shop and connecting them with a wire or rod for stability. A bee brush, a pollen shovel and 2 small hive beetle traps are included also. The bee gloves are marked size XXL, but I would say they are more like size L. The gloves are leather. The bee suit is marked XXL, which is accurate for the width, but maybe not for the length. I measured the suit at 60” from shoulder to leg opening. There is no label in the suit regarding material or washing instructions, but it appears to be polyester. The suit fits a chubby person, think michelin man. Bee suits should be loose fitting, so in that aspect it is ok. I think it’s good to have as a spare for people visiting the bee yard, or to keep in your vehicle for swarm catching. It’s not great as your only bee suit. Additionally there is a tool bag and a plastic case for storing small items. The pockets on the tool bag are shallow, but there is an elastic band around the top that keeps things like hive tools in place. For $48.00 you get a lot of stuff. It comes out to $1.60 per item. It’s worth it if you don’t have anything to start with. The kit can also be good for a bee club for demonstrations in the apiary. ... show more

Suit isn't made of cotton so it doesn't breathe well, but it works fine and the tools with it is a great value, especially for beginners who need it all. Yes, there are extra tools that may be superfluous, but worth it
