I was removing a massive hive for 30 minutes without a single bite. Durability and Protection: 5/5 From the moment I zipped up the bee suit, I was impressed by its robust construction. The suit held up exceptionally well as I maneuvered around the hive, even with a 2x4 in hand I used to scrape the hive off the bottom of my deck. Notably, not a single bee managed to penetrate the suit's defenses, despite my proximity to their hive and the forceful expulsion of parts of the nest. Hood Design and Accessories: 4.5/5 Wearing a baseball cap under the hood, as suggested by fellow bee warriors, provided an extra layer of protection for my head and face. The hood effectively shielded me from potential stings, although an adjustable tightening mechanism would be a useful addition for a more customized fit. Comfort and Layering: 4/5 Layering proved to be a strategic choice. The thick Carhartt jacket, combined with work jeans, enhanced insulation without compromising mobility. I just received this item, so I have not actually used it. But my first impression is that it is very well made and very roomy and comfortable. I'm counting on it to keep the bee stings away. Will be trying it out this week. I did order the XXXL based on reviews to size up, but for me that was the wrong move. It was way too big. The XXL fits just fine and that's my actual size. I'm a 5'7" 260lb woman and it's perfect for me. I appreciate the reviews that say wear a hat to keep the screen off of your face. That works perfectly! Gloves fit great. I'm very impressed with the value of the suit and the cost! I can't wait to get into our bees for my first time :) ... show more

Last month, we encountered an unexpected situation when a swarm of bees decided to make a temporary home in our backyard vegetable garden. As novice beekeepers, this presented both a challenge and an opportunity. To safely manage the situation, I purchased a beekeeper suit for my husband, who is quite a big guy at 6’1” and around 250 lbs. We have often struggled to find the right fit in the past, but this suit proved to be an exception. The suit arrived in perfect condition, and to our relief, it was a perfect fit for my husband. The quality exceeded our expectations. The fabric feels durable yet comfortable, offering ample protection without sacrificing mobility, which is crucial for beekeeping tasks. Much more cost effective than others I’ve seen and seems to work. New to bee keeping and the first time I had the transfer the nuc into my hive I didn’t get stung. Time will tell how it holds up but so far so good.

    • My protective bubble!

Most reviews are about people using this to work with bees or kill a wasp nest. My need for this suit is completely different! For YEARS we have battled carpenter bees in our yard. We’ve tried everything. Traps, sprays, citrus oils. Traps are great but it hasn’t fixed the problem. Apparently I attract those suckers every single time I step foot outside my back door to take the dogs out. And, yes, I know they don’t sting. But they do divebomb at your head and they terrify the dickens out of me. I absolutely hate spring because of them, and the fear of knowing I have to take the dogs out while dodging them sends my anxiety through the roof. I got the strange idea to put a bubble around me, and thought - why not? Put this on today and it was a game changer! I was able to go outside with the dogs and not worry about those awful bees attacking me. I’m sure it’s probably mostly mental, but this was almost like being inside of a protective bubble. I may look crazy and make the hubby laugh, but at least I’m not stressed anymore! And - like others, I plan to use it to deal with a wasp nest too 🙂 ... show more

I thought for the price this worked out amazingly for me. I had to get into my fig tree to clean out the over ripe figs that the yellow jackets were feeding on. I put the suit on it fit great very roomy I was nervous about getting stung so I had an extra layer of clothing on and it was still easy to maneuver around in I did order a size larger knowing I was going to do that. It was comfortable very secure and durable with the zippers. My husband was watching over me in case things went sideways and he was saying that the suits was covered in bees but I didn’t even notice. Very worth wild purchase ... show more
