Note - these don't have three different settings! I just looked at the pics for the lamp and assumed the different lighting effects were three different settings, when the pics were just showing different bulbs. These only have one light setting and no dimmer 3-way settings. My bad, so can't hold that against them. I got the brown, and it is pretty dark to where if you hold it up to black, only then can you really tell it's brown. That's kind of a gamble when ordering on line. The brown is brown, but really really dark and almost black. If it weren't for it being so dark, I would have easily given this five stars. If you are good with a really dark, almost black brown, consider this a five-star review. When it comes to the quality, heaviness, light, and over all appearance, they are great and definitely worth it. Even though they are a lot darker than what I thought with the brown, they still look great and blend in nicely. I was worried they would be and look cheap due to the price, but they aren't. Easy to put together and with some of the review pics of the shades looking a bit off, I was worried, but you just need to make sure you put them together all the way - they look great and give a nice luminous and warm light. They are heavy and sturdy and the design is just enough to give them some character, while at the same time not being bulky. Highly recommend them and glad I picked these out! ... show more

The lamp itself is nice looking. The lamp shades are very cheap looking, and the trim is sewn on unevenly. The curve between the top ring and bottom is sharper than is in the product page. I do like the lamp though so will buy other lampshades.
