Add brilliant fall color to your landscape with CZ Grain Heirloom Red Spider Lily Bulbs (Lycoris radiata), also known as Hurricane Lily, Surprise Lily, and Equinox Flower. These fall-blooming perennial flower bulbs produce striking scarlet-red flowers with narrow, backward-curving petals and long, delicate stamens that resemble spider legs. Flower clusters rise on slender, leafless stems approximately 12–24 inches tall in late summer to early fall. Red Spider Lilies are beautiful additions to perennial flower beds, garden borders, pathways, courtyards, and naturalized landscapes. Their unusual flowers often appear after late-summer rainfall, bringing vivid red color to gardens when many other perennials have finished blooming. Grow Red Spider Lilies in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil, preferably in a permanent location where the bulbs can establish undisturbed. Plant bulbs approximately 6–12 inches apart, keeping the narrow bulb neck slightly above the soil surface. Water during establishment and active growth, but avoid prolonged waterlogging. Suitable for USDA Zones 6–10, Lycoris radiata develops narrow green foliage after flowering, which remains through the cooler growing season before dying back.
