We have a 9 gallon Master Gardener battery sprayer from Valley Industries and we like it. However, the OEM plastic handle split completely down the middle. Aaargh. This replacement fit perfectly in the 3/8" plastic tubing and it appears that we got lucky with the barb sizing based on other reviews here. We chose this particular replacement over several similar items because of the larger spray handle. Unfortunately the handle is still plastic, but it's definitely better engineered than our original part that died after less than 6 months of use. We like the stainless steel wand, stainless nozzle and brass barb fitting, which are all huge improvements over the original OEM parts. However, the nozzle puts out too much spray, which means that we're on the hunt for different nozzles that have more flow restriction. Ideally, we're also looking for a wand that is either all brass or all stainless steel to end the failures of plastic. ... show more

Just missed the Amazon return window. Used it only twice and both times the on/off handle lever did not work properly. The sprayer keeps spraying for 1-2 seconds after you let up on the lever. A real problem when you are spraying herbicide. Amazon says this is made by Vanpet, can't find a website to contact manufacturer to ask for trigger sprayer handle that works properly. Sent request for help to Amazon seller, hope to hear back from them. ... show more

    • For Solo Model 457 sprayer you need the 1/4" barb

It's beyond me why they offer this with just a 3/8" hose barb; or with just a 1/4" hose barb; or with both barbs... at a negligible difference in price. Until you get it and try to make it work you don't know which barb (if any) that you'll need or even what they're talking about. To adapt this to a Solo Model 457 sprayer you need the 1/4" barb. You cut the sprayer hose, slide a hose clamp (provided) onto it, force the hose onto that barb (heating both will help), then tighten the hose clamp. I couldn't actually do this because I got it with the 3/8" barb only, which turns out to be way too large for the Solo hose. ... show more
