  • Inverter, charger, and transfer switch in one box.
Style: 2500W with LCD Remote Controller
I purchased this product because it was rated for sump pumps. I needed a solution to keep my cottage furnace running here in rural Michigan . My thinking was that it should drive a furnace just fine since both are primarily AC motor loads. My furnace is newer and draws around 400w continuous. I also have my internet gear plugged in which is another 100w. My battery capacity is 5kwh which is enough to run things for a full day. This unit is indeed capable of providing 2500w. I know this because I attached two electric heaters to test it out and it did run them. In fact, I ran several full full discharge/charge cycles to burn the unit in since I'm relying on it to keep pipes from freezing. This thing sustained 200 amps at 12 volts for well over an hour . When I tried to push it beyond 2,500w it automatically shut down. Make sure you have beefy cables and a battery/BMS that can handle the worst case draw you intend. I picked an oversized unit because inrush current for an AC motor can be several times the continuous rating. There are a lot of caveats out there when using inverters to drive AC motors and I wanted something that claims to be built for this purpose. In this case the manufacturer appears to be true to their word and the unit performs as advertised. If all you're looking for is something to run one or two sump pumps, look no further. The voltage display is about a tenth of a volt low according to multiple volt meters I own. And the system cuts off at around 10 volts to keep the batteries from getting ruined. The wired remote control panel is also great because the main unit is mounted in a relatively inaccessible location. This control lets you turn on the inverter without groping for the panel switch. It's been installed for several months and has endured at least two extended power failures. It drives the load just fine and recharges the battery automatically when it comes back online. The inverter portion is only used when AC power is lost. You can hear a relay click when the transition occurs, and it does not disturb electronics like switches, routers, etc. I like this design because the inverter is not under stress when AC power is available. It essentially functions like a conventional UPS, only you get to pick the battery size. The enclosure and cooling is built for extended duty which is another advantage over a typical UPS. One caveat: If the battery is completely drained while in failover mode, the unit powers down completely. This makes sense since there's no power left in the battery and the AC lines are down. When power returns the unit recharges the battery automatically but the inverter module does not come fully online without manually powering it up. In other words, you can fully discharge the battery and recharge it without intervention, but if you lose power a second time without pushing a button, it will go down hard and stay down because the inverter does not turn on automatically after a full cold start. It's almost like the inverter is a completely separate animal living inside the same box. I'm very satisfied with the product since it combines inverter, charger, and transfer switch in one unit. I wish it were about $100 cheaper though. ... show more

  • excellnt product
Style: 2500W with LCD Remote Controller
purchased to keep my sump pump running. setup is easy with excellent instructions. Aded a 100ah Lifepo battery and it works perfectly. Surprisingly it will also run my hotub as well. at a solid 1800w draw when i tested it. Output appears to be as advertised. One drawback.. if the battery runs completely dead the default state is off. so it will need to be powered on again manually once power returns. ... show more

  • Inverter battery backup system
Style: 2500W with LCD Remote Controller
I originally bought the 1500W and it didn't work. I contacted the tech support and was matched up with Mandy. He recommended that I buy a new sump pump because mine was old. I decided to do my own thing and buy the 2500W. When that also didn't work I decided that my pump was old and Tech support was right all along. I bought a Liberty 1/3 hp because they advertised low startup surge. This worked like a champ. The techs really go above and beyond to explain and help people. I should have listened to them in the beginning ... show more

  • Perfect for sump pump in an unattended location
Style: 2500W with LCD Remote Controller
We paired this UPS system with a 100Ah SLA to power a sump pump and it did just fine. We disconnected AC as a test. As the battery got lower, the UPS would beep at the start of the pump cycle. After it shut off the output due to battery discharge (a little over 2 days, indicated by a beeping alarm), we restored AC power and it resumed normal operation. Contrary to another person's report, it had no problem running on battery a second time after charging -- no operator intervention was required. I suspect that person was using a Li battery with a BMS that had shut down. The unit is fairly large, and feels well-built. I'd recommend it for applications including sump-pump or furnace back-up. ... show more

Paired this with a LiFePO4 battery and it has been working like a champ. The convenient remote display lets me know everything is working properly. Definitely worth the investment.
