This is not just for hatching chicken eggs, but almost any fertilized bird eggs. Setup is incredibly simple, and it’s almost hands free. I like that you can see into it, as it’s exciting for both kids and adults. We haven’t been able to actually hatch anything yet because our rooster is too young, and we’ve yet to get any fertilized eggs from our hens. It does include an egg candle so you can see how the embryo is growing. I’d like to actually post some pictures of our hatchlings, but it’s going to have to wait until I have some fertilized eggs. I may just buy some so the kids can get a bit more excited about this. It's a okay incubator but the hatch day counter does not work. And do not listen to the menu they have duck eggs listed at 21 days and chicken eggs listed as 28 days. The humidity levels are both wrong. It does not explain all the settings to you. Should give it a lower star but I'm see what plays out over rhe next week ... show more

Not only can you incubate chicks, but it works well with other species of birds. The functions serve it right, and it’s easy to use and maintain. The quality of it is well put together, but very light and fragile. It can be easily broken or damaged if it fell to the ground or a something seemingly heavy were to fall on it. Keep it in a permanent and secure location. High enough so that children or pets cannot disrupt its ongoing process, or accidentally knock it over. The price is worth it if you are going to use it.
