I’ve been following the IM508S Pro for a while, watching a lot of YouTube videos, and it really caught my attention. A locksmith friend recommended it and let me try his, and I was impressed. It handles BMW and VW keys easily, and Benz keys as well when paired with the XP4000PRO—but note that only the IM508S Pro comes with the XP4000PRO; other IM508S models don’t. I actually bought the wrong one before and had to return it. The IM508S Pro also offers diagnostics, active tests, and other functions for modern car work. The interface is clean and simple, the menus are clear, and setup was quick. I’ve used it several times now—response is fast and everything runs smoothly. For me, this is a reliable, powerful tool, and I’m really happy I chose Autel.

This key programmer is an absolute beast, I feel I have not even use 25% of its full capacity, and that is just the im508, adding the xp400 pro is just unbelievable, amazing software, easy to update, battery life is really good, well built, and Autel software is really easy to navigate, just amazing, hardware and software wise.

I've been a master tech for five years. About six months ago, we worked on a 2015 BMW 5 series that had been fooded. l told my boss not to take the job since those cars always bring trouble, but he insisted. We replaced the damaged control module and used the IM608 II with G-B0X to get everthing matched. Took two full days, but the car finally started. A few months later, another module burned out, and my boss blamed me again. That was it for me-l quit. Now I work on my own, focusing on vehicle security systems. After comparing many tools, I found that the IM508S with xp4000PRO offers the same level of anti-theft capability as the IM608 II, just without the extra programming features l don't really need. For the price, it's unbeatable. I recently used this setup on a 2023 BMW X7 with the latest BDC03 system. The dealer quoted over $700, and l made around $300 profit. The customer had already tried several shops, but none could solve it. After l fixed it, he was so impressed he recommended me to others. Now I'm busier than ever, even my old boss tried to get me back, but I had no interest. lf you're in this field and care about both performance and value, this IM508S PRO scanner is a good choice.

Picked up the IM508S PRO after reading a bunch of reviews and asking the seller about the difference with the regular version. The PRO comes with the XP400 PRO which normally sells for $500 and lets you do some advanced stuff on a PC that makes certain jobs way easier. I mainly wanted it for security-related work but it's also a really capable scanner. Full-system checks, live data, actuator tests, and service functions all work without issue. The first setup takes a little time to register and update everything but after that it runs smooth and makes sense. Just a heads up, this is really meant for someone with experience or learning under a skilled tech, total beginners might struggle.This is all good like my MS906 Max, It works perfectly with my daily tasks.

Is this the most expensive code reader or the best on the market? Of course not, but for the price, it does what I need it to do. It's a nice short cut to figuring out the problem, specially with the evac system. There are two sensors that seem to go out on a regular basis, making it difficult to get the car to pass emissions. This told me which one to change out and it was accurate. I'm not a mechanic by any means, but this was easy enough for a mechanically challenged person like me to use. If you want a fancy reader, you might want to look somewhere else. But if you are like me and just want a basic reader and don't want to spend a ton of money, this might work out OK for you.

Tool is very capable. Overall, I am happy with the tool and have used it for students to experience Immobilizer system assessment in class. I wish it would’ve included APB112 and the GBox2. Unfortunately, this sale did not come with either. To be fair, it was not listed with either. Was the tool easy to use? Yes. Was the tool capable of adding a key for a 2017 Chinese/North American Buick Envision? Yes. Could I make money with this tool serving customers in the field? Absolutely.

This bundle of the IM508s and xp400 Pro is amazing, if you only need a complete IMMO solution this is as good as it gets, no programmer is perfect thats why you need to complement them with each other, that being said this is my MAIN and Favorite one. From simple reading and cloning transponders, to reading and programming Mercedes IR keys this feels like it can do everything (excluding the toyota issue for now). EEPROM reading, Autel Universal iKey generation, and plenty of programming options for immo and many other modules, the Xp400 Pro gives you 10+ adapters to solder Chips and read and write information, this is definitely a PROFESSIONAL tool. For the price it is a no brainer to get if you are into IMMO, Keys and module cloning and programming.
