    • Good bang for the buck except for one little item

I bought this as a point-of-sale terminal for craft shows. It works perfectly with Square and the Square reader. Generally, it is a very nice unit, and the heavy duty case is definitely a plus. I have not had any issues installing programs or using Bluetooth (a keyboard, and the Square reader). Not the fastest kid on the block, but that's expected at this price. However, I deducted a star for charging. It has a USB-C connector for charging and to connect to a PC, but for some reasons it will NOT charge with a USB-C to USB-C cable or directly to a USB-C charger. You have to use a USB-C to standard USB connector and then to a standard charger. Not sure why this is except that it is obviously not USB-C compliant. And even when you get it charging it is SOOO SLOOOWWW. I have never seen anything charge slower. From 50% to 100% takes several hours, with the unit sitting idle and screen off. For my purposes I can live with this. When I use it at a craft fair it is constantly on a charger. But if it was my daily "go-to" tablet this would be a return just because of the slow charging time. Just keep this in mind. No "quick topping off the battery" if that is your habit. ... show more

I purchased this tablet as I was looking for a good updated Android device with a larger screen that was cost effective. The AOCWEI X500 seemed to be the right choice to fit my needs. Initially everything ran great and I was quite pleased with the fit and finish, speed, display quality and the sturdy protective case. It was doing everything I needed it to do. Unfortunately I had an issue with the table arise that I simply could not fix. I contacted their customer service describing the issue and they immediately responded with suggestions and guidance. We exchanged emails several times, and I sent videos of the symptoms, but in the end we were unable to get the tablet back to its normal state. Thankfully they are replacing the tablet since it is under warranty. Though I had an issue, up until that point, I was quite pleased with the tablet. I was also quite pleased with the customer service department and their responsiveness to my problems. I look forward to the replacement unit so I can get back to having fun with the tablet.
