Hi, I'm writing this bc I tried 4 computers before landing on this one and it was worth it. I use mine for work and have several windows and applications running at the same time. This baby does mind, and the touch screen makes it even better. Everything I wanted in a system I have and it's a full screen 17.3. Light weight, soft key, backlight, ram and storage all the box's are checked. If I requested anything it would be better battery life but I work from home or my cubicle so plugging in is fine with me. ... show more

My 9 year old Dell desktop PC's HDD crashed and it was time for an upgrade. I've had good success with HP products over the years, so I decided to go with this model. I chose to upgrade to 32GB RAM, the 512GB SSD, and the 1TB HDD to accommodate future needs. My local repair shop was able to pull off most of my data and saved emails from the old HDD and loaded them on to the new HP laptop. I also asked them to uninstall any bloatware, anti-virus trial versions, Cortana, and OneDrive. I like to use Firefox browser, Thunderbird email, MS Security Essentials. I picked up a 128GB flashdrive and a 2TB external HDD for backup and recovery purposes. The only negative is minor. The screen is not an anti-glare screen. It's quite reflective. I'm going to apply an anti-glare film on it to cut down the reflectivity. Aside from that, I highly recommend this laptop. The 17.3" screen fills in adequately for my old 24" flat panel monitor and I intend to leave this laptop on my office work table and not tote it around. It can realistically be called a desktop replacement/substitute. ... show more

My 6-year-old HP all in one desktop crashed and burned. Nevertheless, this laptop transferred a lot of data, but not commercial antivirus, from the ruined desktop onto it. Power button is on top, 6th one in from the right. No ethernet jack. If it does not recognize your printer, make sure the printer is turned on. There is an onscreen tutorial. It takes a while to get everything restored and updated but stick with it. Once you get the hang of it Windows 11 is better than 10 except for the search for tools, you have to click the Microsoft Icon and type in what you are looking for, eg. cleanup and defragmenter. On Edge you can put your favorite sites on the right taskbar. Keyboard backlight is F4 on top. the light goes out but comes back on when you use the keyboard. I like it better without the light. Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro/11 is possible for$99. I always keep it plugged in and do not use touchscreen and do not play games so no comment on that. ... show more

After barely using this laptop for four days, the screen just went white and never moved for there. When I took it to be checked it was discovered that the monitor was not good. Had to pay almost $200 to have it replaced. Tried contacting customer service when the problem was first discovered and all they kept doing on the chat was passing me from one agent to the next. Everytime I was required to restate what the problem was and go through the whole process all over again. After the fourth agent that was it for me. 😒 DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! ... show more

As a longtime HP loyalist, I wanted to love this laptop. I ordered it when my much-loved but rather old laptop died (also an HP) based on the brand as well as features I wanted (17" screen was important to me, as was touchscreen, backlit keyboard, and 32 GB RAM). This laptop definitely delivers all of that. However, as others have noted, there is a LOT of glare on this screen. It's fine when I'm working on a Word doc or in Excel, but it's not so great when I'm using it to watch YouTube, Netflix, or other media. Also, the speaker leaves something to be desired -- even at max volume, it's sometimes not easy to hear. I fixed this by hooking up separate WiFi speaker, but it would be nice if you didn't have to do this. Most critically, though, is the fact that even though Brand New, I've already had several instances where the computer "froze" and the mousepad didn't work and the only way to fix it was to do a hard reboot. Soooo -- while I like the price and many of the features of this laptop, I can't give it a rave review. I'm giving it between 3.5-4 stars. ... show more
