  • An excellent spare machine
I am a technology instructor who teaches on customer sites now and then. I wanted a backup computer for projecting slides and checking email in case my main laptop failed. This one perfectly fills the bill. It is slow and has very limited storage, but is small, light and does everything I need. It would not work for a main computer, but if your needs are similar to mine it is perfect. Inexpensive, too. ... show more

  • Nice little computer for light work on the go.
I bought this to use mainly for when I go out. So I could have a light weight portable computer when I am out and about. I find that I am using it even at home almost every day when I need to do light work. Easy to just sit on the sofa with this and not worry about sitting at my home desk. Works great for light web surfing, emails and using the mobile excel spreadsheet program. Although heavy use will drain the battery faster. I bring a portable charger with me to extend the battery life. All in all excellent for the price. A great budget backup. ... show more

  • I Love This Tablet
First of all, let me tell you what it is NOT: 1. It is not a replacement for a full featured laptop. 2. It is NOT a gaming machine. 3. It is not the fastest tablet on the market. What it is: It is a 32 bit only Windows 10, 10" tablet. 1. It is great as a carry along when travelling or sitting in waiting rooms.. 2. It is entirely adequate for email and web surfing. 3. It plays video pretty well. 4. it is great if you want a windows tablet but may occasionally want a keyboard. 5. The price makes it a real bargain. What I like: It is the perfect size for me. Smart phones are great as phones, messaging devices, etc. But they are too small for web surfing, watching video, or reading. I found that an 8" tablet was not much of an improvement. I have been using a thin profile 11.5" "folding convertible" laptop but, it is a little large and unwieldy when travelling. I shopped a lot before selecting this tablet. Most tablets with similar features are 2 or even 3 times the price. The keyboard is not is not the best, but I wouldn't mark it down for that, because it is, primarily, a tablet. So, why only 4 stars? 1. the battery life is nothing to write home about. 2. It does not have built-in GPS/compass. 3. Memory is so cheap there is no reason this couldn't be a 4/64 machine, I think the good far outweighs the bad. Again, overall the Cambio is a bargain at this price point. It does everything I need it to do, and does it well. If you want a tablet that does more, you'll have to pay more. But, shop carefully, you can spend (a lot) more on a tablet that isn't any more capable. ... show more

  • DOES NOT START
I bought this tablet to replace a Windows Insignia that stopped working after I dropped it. The tablet I dropped works much better, despite having a screen that no longer works and has a huge crack running through it, because I CAN ACTUALLY TURN THE BROKEN INSIGNIA ON. This thing will NOT boot. I found several online You Tube videos offering trouble shooting advice on how to JUST GET IT TO TURN ON. I managed to get it to turn on finally, long enough to downloaded a $90 Microsoft Office Suite onto it, and now the thing won't turn on again. I am now getting a dead battery light when I attempt to turn it on, a feat that involves holding down the volume up button simultaneously with the power button, so I am not certain whether the battery is actually not holding a charge, or if this is just another manifestation of the same glitch, that makes the stupid think not boot. I attempted to access the battery, so I could check the connections, see if it could be replaced, ect, and that is when I discovered yet one more charming feature of this little tablet. Accessing the battery is...involved. The battery accessed by removing the back of the tablet, which appears to be held fast to the rest of the tablet be several tiny screws, roughly half and again the size of the screws used in standard corrective vision glasses. I have over three dozen screw drivers in my house and garage, and at a glance I don't think I have a single screw driver that will fit these oddball sized screws. I am also not 100% certain that these screws are what is holding the back of the tablet in place, they seem to be concentrated entirely on one side of tablet, and absent on the other, which seems odd. The only redeeming quality this table has is that, because it is one of many RCA tablets that just does not start, there are hundreds of You Tube Videos online, and online help pages, created by other proud owners of RCA tablets troubleshooting the problem. Having wasted over $220.00 on this tablet though I am through trying to fix it, I wanted a Windows tablet so I could have the full Office Suite on something as portable as a tablet, the first tablet I did this with work like a dream, that was an Insignia, sadly they don't make them anymore, and Best Buy couldn't get parts to fix mine because it was to old. RCA seems to have decided that this particular tablet, at least is a lemon and apparently has stopped manufacturing it, which means even if at some point I do get it working, its use life will likely be far more limited than the Insignia's as I doubt I will be able to find any replacement parts. The only other piece of technology that I have purchased online that seemed as intractably dedicated to not working as this tablet, was a $3.50 electronic photo keychain, and while admittedly utterly useless it at least turned on. ... show more

  • Its good....but it has its flaws...
Firstly, this thing is pretty decent, but has little storage and installs apps I didn't really want. The settings are kinda weird as well, but it honestly wasn't surprising. The good thing about it is it has windows10 installed, which is a good thing because most desktop PC's don't have Windows10 installed on them. Its not really good for gaming, so to anyone who wants this device for that soul purpose, I wouldn't recommend it. OBS is slow on this thing as well, so don't even bother. RCA makes cheap ass stuff so if you're getting this, you'll get what you paid for. There is room for major improvement, but if you're just looking to get a windows 10 tablet cheap, this would honestly be your best bet. But I'd suggest saving up $200 worth to buy a decent windows 10 tablet for gaming if that's what you'd like. ... show more
