  • Heavy duty
The main thing you need to know about this heater is that you will need a 20 amp circuit to run it on. If it needs to heat on high when it first turns on, trip of 15 amp circuit breaker. It's very functional to keep water from freezing in the cold winter. I use this to keep a 5 gallon bucket of water thawed in the chicken coop and it works great. It seems to heat up quick and keep an even temperature that is displayed on the readout and doesn't have to stay on too long. It transfers the Heat through the water well and Cycles on and off as needed. It also has extra rubber bumpers that can be used so that you don't have to worry about the heating element getting too close to plastic and melting it. ... show more

  • Broken
It heated up good he did the best, but there was a different wire on it. I didn’t understand and then my daughter looked at it and said I can’t put this in there cause I didn’t put it. I didn’t know what it was for and she said that she was glad that I didn’t would’ve been electrocuted.

  • Only has 20 gal capacity
I have a 100 gal horse trough on my deck that I use as a soaking tub. Up until now it’s only been a summer activity, but I always thought how nice it would be on a winter night, and thought I had found the perfect solution with this immersion heater. The listing states that it is perfect for tubs, kiddie pools, hot tubs, etc. and that is there is a reheat feature that will heat the water if it drops below the set temperature, which is also a great feature for a tub, right? However, if you read the small print, it states that you cannot actually be in the water while the heater is running, which is not ideal for a bath. However the biggest issue I found was that it took forever to heat the water! I checked the listing and could not find any specific heating times, so I asked the question to the AI and the response was that this heater is meant for 5-20 gal and it takes 20-30 min to heat it to “bath” temp. Again, exactly how is this meant for a hot tub or bath if it takes almost 2 hours to heat the water and then every time the water cools down you have to get out for 1/2 hour to heat the water again, then get back in the tub, which kind of defeats the purpose? So while it does work to heat water, overall I think the listing is misleading. I’m sure it’s great to heat up water in a bucket but it should clearly state the capacity and heating times since this clearly is not meant for tubs or kiddie pools. ... show more

  • Easy to use once you submerge the probe
First time using an immersion heater with a probe — you really do need to put both the heating element and probe in the water for it to read correctly. After that it’s smooth: set temp up to 180°F, choose instant or delayed start, and it heats fast. Stainless guard feels heavy-duty. Works great for my wife’s baths and the kids’ pool. ... show more

  • Good value 2000W heater with smart features
For $50 this 2000W portable immersion heater has more features than expected: real-time display, thermostat with auto-restart, delayed start option, and stainless steel guard that hasn’t rusted. The probe is a bit of extra work (must be submerged), but it makes temp control much more accurate than basic models. Heats buckets and tubs quickly. Happy with it. ... show more
