  • Fantastic
Bought this for a portable tub in my home gym. Had to figure out how fast it heated, got 150 gallons to 135 degrees in 10 hours. Now I know the formula so will only have to run it 5 hours for 105 degrees!

  • Heating time!
A bit disappointed in length of time it takes to heat water in a tub. Didn’t see any information about this when purchasing.

  • Works fast
3 gallons of water took less than 10 minutes to reach 120 degrees. Hope it keeps working down the road.

  • Our water heater broke and this immersion water heater was a lifesaver Our water heater broke and this immersion water heater was a lifesaver
Short review: This was a lifesaver for us when our water heater broke. It's very simple to use and heated a 5-gallon bucket of cold water to 110F in just 15 minutes. It allowed us to take hot, 5-10 minute full showers per bucket. We are definitely keeping this for any future emergencies, and it'll also be useful for fun occasions like camping. And longer review if you care to read it: Our water heater broke (and of course it happened in winter and on Friday evening and on a long holiday weekend on top of it 🤦♀️) and we suddenly had no hot water at all (the cold water and everything else worked in the house, thank goodness). While I was pricing hotels near us and looking at gym day passes, my husband ordered this 2000W Portable Immersion Water Heater, another similar immersion water heater, and the Fohil Portable Shower for Camping, 6000mAh Rechargeable Portable Outdoor Showerhead kit, all from Amazon, and ran to Lowe's for three of their blue 5-gallon buckets. This ended up saving us a lot of money because it took a few days from the time the home warranty people got someone out to evaluate our situation to eventually getting a new water heater installed. This immersion heater heated a 5-gallon bucket of cold water to 110F in 15 minutes. It was so fast. The digital thermometer that comes with it made it easy to check the water temperature as it was heating up. The cord is a decent length, around 4.5 to 5 feet, but we ended up using extension cords so we could keep the buckets close to the shower instead of across the room near the two outlets. We set the buckets just outside the master bedroom shower and attached the camping shower head that came with a suction mount next to our regular one. The shower head had a start and stop switch which helped stretch the water, and we got a solid 5-10 minute showers per bucket. We all used one bucket per person per shower, and then I used two buckets on the days I needed to wash my hair. I think the only thing would be to just careful about electricity and water because you don't want to be electrocuting yourself, and also make sure it's fully submerged before turning it on (and turn off everything and pull it out after it's heated, etc.) The instructions are short and explain it really well with pictures. The stainless-steel guard feels sturdy, the cord is thick, and it turned a stressful situation into something manageable. We're definitely keeping these for emergencies (and for fun like camping) from now on. Photo next to Red Bull cans for size reference. I'm also including the shower head we bought that we used with this, but that's not a part of this immersion water heater kit. ... show more

  • Safety concerns, at least they are noted in the documentation. This gets HOT.
I got this to use to heat water when camping. While I think this will do a good job doing that, I do have concerns re the safety of the heater. While the company was very clear regarding the potential for harm on the enclosed documentation, it seems they could have done more to create a safer device. There seems to be no overheat protection, auto shut-off, or UL (or similar) testing/certification - which would be nice any time you are mixing electricity and water. As for the performance of the heater, I was happy with how quickly this heated up a bucket of water. Within minutes, the water in the bucket warmed 20 degrees (and more closer to the heater). The heater itself is larger than I had expected, and gets hot FAST. This means it also needs to be fully submerged - it'll get so hot when not submerged that it will burn out the heater. This means you may want to check the dimensions and make sure that whatever amount of water you are heating will fully cover the heater. Overall, I will probably continue to use this, but more sparingly and with a lot of supervision and awareness of the safety limitations - we don't have kids that will be around when this is in use but I'd be VERY hands on if there were kids around. I didn't test this in a tub, but for 2-5 gallons of water, this heats very quickly. ... show more

  • Water heats fast but be safe!
This 2000W immersion water heater does a good job for quickly heating smaller amounts of water and the performance is noticeable right away. The quality feels decent with the stainless steel guard giving some added protection which helps with durability during use. The ease of use is simple since it is just plug in and submerge but you do need to pay attention to the instructions for safe operation. The heating speed is strong and it takes the chill out of water pretty quickly which makes it useful for buckets tubs and small setups. The versatility is a plus since it can be used for camping cleaning or basic outdoor needs. The included thermometer is helpful for monitoring temperature which adds a bit of control during use. The portability is good since it is compact and easy to pack for travel or outdoor trips. The value for money feels fair based on the heating power and included features. The biggest thing is safety since it needs to stay fully submerged and should not be left running too long so it requires some attention while in use. Overall this is a useful tool for heating water quickly but it is something you want to use carefully and correctly. ... show more
