Bought a 10 foot pool for my baby to play in inside my garage. Depth of 14 inches of water. Starting water temperature in the pool was 70. Needed temperature to be at 90 for baby. After plugging this device in for 5 hours on day 1 (with breaks every hour), pool temp was 77 degrees F. I was excited. On day 2, starting temperate was 76 degrees. Again, plugged this device in for 5 hours on and off. Ending temperature was 77 degrees F. After 5 hours. Never went above 77. Not impressed. Easier to just run never ending buckets of hot water to pool than use this device for 10 hours. In my opinion, this won’t work for indoor swimming pools. It just takes too long.

I got this to turn my little, 6-foot inflatable pool into a soaking tub, and it does do a great job of that. I put a plastic laundry bucket into the pool with rocks to hold it down. Then, I submerge this heater into the bucket to protect the vinyl floor of my pool. I'm not trying to get it to hot tub temperature; I just want to take the chill off and relax in not cold water. It takes about 20 minutes to get to my perfect temperature. I deducted a star for two reasons. One is that I think this should come already in its own safety cage. It's weird to me that this item can get so hot, but it comes without any safety protection, like a cage or something like that. I also think that the many, many warnings of danger are a bit off-putting. They made me really afraid to try it, but once I figured out that the warnings were saying to not have a person and the heater in the tub at the same time and to unplug the heater before reaching into the water, I felt a little safer. This heater works well, but could use with some improvement, so it gets four stars.

. Made well. Purposely built. Sturdy materials make for a quality unit. Turns camping into glamping in just a few minutes. Helpful safety tips are included. It has an automatic shut off at 187 degrees. That's way hot enough. All you need is a bucket of water and access to electricity to enjoy a hot shave in the morning in the middle of nowhere. Being out in nature can make hot water a luxury. Imagine how 187 degree hot water in a few minutes could do to your camp site. Certainly a value !
