I have 48 VDC and 12 volt chargers in this brand and they function great. The 2 bank 12/24 model seems to have issues when hooked up correctly to two batteries. It then goes into an alarm beep and displays error code. I hope this gets worked out as I would like to have a 2 bank model. Please correct and advise. I used this dual charger to charge & maintain deep cycle, HD marine batteries in my boat. 1st use it worked perfectly. Showed how each battery was charging and it's condition. Brought each battery up to 85% in about 7 hours. A week later, I hooked it up to the same batteries just to top them off before an outing in the boat. It operated fine for 1/2 hour then went up in smoke. Really concerned me because I was expecting a fire. There was so must terrible smoke. Don't know what happened. But there was a serious malfunction. Amazon has refunded my money

I recently purchased this battery charger, expecting a reliable and efficient product. However, I was extremely disappointed and alarmed when it overcharged my battery to the point of off-gassing. Not only is this dangerous, but it severely damages the battery life. Technical Explanation: Overcharging a battery occurs when the charger continues to supply current even after the battery has reached its full capacity (charger was still supplying 5A). Ideally, a charger should stop providing current or switch to a low trickle charge once the battery is fully charged. However, in my case, the charger failed to do so, leading to the off-gassing incident. Off-gassing is a hazardous event where a battery releases flammable and toxic gases due to excessive internal pressure buildup. This occurs when the battery's electrolyte begins to break down as a result of overcharging, causing the release of hydrogen and other gases. This can lead to several dangerous outcomes, including fire, explosion, or the release of harmful fumes. Overcharging not only poses safety risks but also causes irreversible damage to the battery. The excessive current and voltage can damage the battery's internal structure, reducing its overall capacity and shortening its lifespan. Over time, this can lead to the complete failure of the battery, rendering it unusable. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this battery charger due to its inability to prevent overcharging, which led to off-gassing and potential safety hazards. The charger's failure to regulate current and voltage properly not only puts users at risk but also damages the batteries it is meant to charge. I would strongly advise against purchasing this product and recommend looking for a more reliable and safer alternative.
