I got these grab bars to make a safe handhold to the entrance to my attic. These bars do not disappoint. They are stainless steel with stainless steel hardware. The bars themselves are not magnet, though the bolts and screw are. Diameter of the bars is 31/32" or 24.6mm. This kit comes with rubber grips installed on the bars. They are nice and non-slip and will give you a warm feeling if you have a cold house. The kit also includes some self-adhesive non-slip strips and a squeegee for burnishing them to set the adhesive. A nice addition, though I did not use them. My only concern is the amount of mating thread material on the ends of the grab bars. the ends of the bars have a sheet of thicker stainless steel welded to the bar tube and the threads in this look like they are only abut 2.5 to 3. deep. This may not provide a strong purchase for the bolts that attach the mounting flange to the bar. I recommend a thread locker on the bolts just to make sure they don't come unscrewed from the handle.

I ordered these for my mother-in-law who recently moved into a new retirement apartment. She needed some grab bars installed in her shower to assist in entering and exiting the shower. I ordered these because of the anti-slip grips and the 16-inch size. Installation was straightforward and all the necessary hardware comes included. In less than an hour I was able to install both grab bars exactly where she needed them. Now she feels safe and secure when using the shower. This alone makes these grab bars and excellent value.

Unlike the suction grab bars, these grab bars are very stable and secure - since they are screwed into the wall. I have tried the suction version and have been disappointed when they suddenly weren't "stuck" to the wall any more. If you need to use grab bars, you need to be able to rely on them to be stable and secure at all times.
