Bought this heater for a cat box to help my outdoor cat stay warm. Reason I picked this one was the ability to control it remotely via a phone app. The app (Smart Life) is free to download and to use - no subscription needed. I already use this app to remotely control a cat feeder; have used the app for over a year; and never paid a penny in subscriptions. Adding this heater to the app was easy by following the instructions. A reality check here....this heater is rated at only 120 watts. A 150 watt incandescent light bulb generates about 135 watts of heat. So if a 150 watt light bulb will not heat up the space you need heated, neither will this heater. If you have a small space (like a dog or cat house) that is well insulated, it might work for you. This heater's temp sensor appears to be embedded in the heater and not in the control unit. Yes, you can set the temp to 176F; and the heater will try to make its surface temp 176F. But if it is placed in a cold area, it may never get that warm to the touch. Example of this was on a cold night (6F), I had the heater set to max (176F) but the temp reading in the app never went above 136F. Apparently the 120 watts was not enough to get the panel to the set temp because of the cold. So I rated this product 5 stars because (1) The remote control via app works well; and (2) the 120 watts is enough to keep the cat box warm. ... show more

    • Not worth it, save your money
Doesn’t work, not worth the money. Purchased it in February , where supposed to get our chicks first of March due to issue at hatchery we couldn’t get them till first of April. We plugged it in set temp and time, it never heated up, bad from the get go. It’s out of return window so no refund. If you choose to order it make sure you check it out the minute you get it to verify it’s working. ... show more

I was worried it wouldn't get warm enough for my cathouse outdoors...but I was wrong. It gets waaaay to hot! Lol I think it can go up to 176. But I keep it at 100. I'm still experimenting with the temp. My kitties are spoiled. But so far....I'm in love. I was able to remove the heating pad I had in their also. Because it was too much. Lol such a piece of mind. ... show more

This heater seemed nice. I set it up on a schedule to just be on at night and it worked for a few weeks. After about 3 weeks it stopped working. The screen lights up and shows that it should be heating, but it doesn’t warm up anymore.

    • Heater doesn't work at all. It says it's at 91 degrees. It's not heating.
I have it plugged in. The remote and my app says it's 91 degrees for my chicks. It's cold. Not sure who to call or what I might be doing wrong.
