It fit our 36 inch cut out perfectly, clips werent needed, we put them in anyway. It was an absolute sinch, to install, two hots and a ground done. The mauve represents red and then there is black. Green goes to ground, boom done. Heats up super fast, I have no idea why people had any issue here. If there is a knock, it can get too hot. Tip 1- never trust the fuse, if had we trusted the fuse shut off we'd be dead, ended up need to cut power to the house, oh well. Never assume there is no current, always test it! Tip 2 -There is a red light, it doesnt come on with power. It is a indication the stovetop is at a certain temp. Since it is radiant, it takes some time to cool, as much as 20 minutes, yes know this. So the warning light will stay lit when stove is turned off, to warn you it is hot. Love the unit, very nice with our big flat counter. Love the simple black knobs, universal. Cant buy this at local stores for anything close to what amazon sells this for. Man what a bargain!!! . ... show more

I installed this cooktop at my mom's house. Instructions are not so easy to follow but if you know some electrical work you'll be fine. Seems like the instruction manual is for a wide range of cooktops the seller has. The package comes with a foam gasket that you stick on the underside of the lip. No caulk needed. It also comes with 4 brakets (screws provided) that hold the cooktop in place once it's set so it doesn't pop up or move easily. You just have to screw them onto the unit. Overall it's easy for my mom to use the cooktop. She prefers knobs over touch buttons so I like this cooktop for that reason. There is a touch button on the unit for the 2 setting burner but it's not too big of a deal for her. The outer metal frame is what made me purchase this cooktop over others. Previous one cracked so I'm hoping this one holds up. So far 2 months since I've installed this unit. It's still working at 100%. ... show more

My stove broke, and I needed a quick replacement, which ended up becoming permanent. This small stovetop is fantastic it can be installed in a counter cutout or used on a countertop by attaching the four small legs. I’ve tried other brands, but this is the only one that consistently operates at the stated wattage. I have both the 300W 240V version in my kitchen and the 200W 120V plug-in version. Both get daily use and are still going strong. Aside from the high quality, slim design, and quiet operation, the price point makes it a steal. I use the plug-in model for outdoor cooking with an Anker Powerhouse, and it's easy to clean. The heating levels are accurate, unlike others that only have extreme settings. Don’t be fooled by similar versions that are more or less expensive Cooksir is the original, and the others are just copies. I also want to add that this stove doesn’t get hot while in use, unlike others with similar designs that can burn your countertop or whatever you place underneath. With this one, only the top gets hot, while the bottom stays just warm to the touch. ... show more

It's smaller than older units you might be trying to replace, such as Kitchen Aid etc. The actual width of the top is 35 9/16". The height is 20 9/16". This makes it too small to cover the opening in my countertop. To make things worse, I have yet to find a pre-made adapter ring that would work. I can go the custom route, but that's probably going to add astronomical cost. I thought I'd save a few bucks with this thing and though they'd be standardized, but apparently not. This isn't lumber, where the wood shrinks so a 12 ft piece of wood is smaller delivers. If it says 36", it should be at least 36" or more. Not less. An actual 36" top would have worked, as it would have covered the hole. ... show more
