Nice pit. In my experience, not smokeless. Not recommended for windy conditions. All the heat rises, not outward. I consider this a fire ambiance option only or possibly for camping.

This fire pit is so small it does not allow the smokeless feature to work. For it to function smokelessly the fire must be going fairly well and it must be below the ring of holes in the top edge of the pit....there's not enough room for much below those holes so the wood I'm burning is above them this making is smoke. I'm keeping though to take camping for easy safer fire building but definitely will be smoking lol

For the price it's not bad, I agree with all the reviews as it being quite difficult to make it smokeless. My biggest issue is that the ash tray has warped after about a month of use. The last time I cleaned it the tray actually completely separated.. :( I'm afraid I'll have to spend the money next time on one that's better made, got two good months of use out of it though

The media could not be loaded. This VivaGarden fire pit is awesome! The 19.5-inch size is just right, big enough for a nice flame but still easy to move around. It really is smokeless, which makes a huge difference when sitting around it with family or friends. The stainless steel looks great and feels solid, and the carry bag makes it super convenient to pack up for camping or use in the backyard. We’ve used it a few times already for small gatherings and it gives off great heat with no mess. Definitely worth it if you want that real wood fire feel without the smoke!

We have a smaller name brand stove and it was great for camping. We wanted a larger one for our yard but the cost was insane. We found this model and took a chance… it was easy to assemble and seemed to be a good build quality. If you know how these work they can be smokeless, but you must do some research in order to get the burn just right. This puts out a ton of heat and was really nice until we noticed the base plate warping. The body is holding up as expected and we have used it about 8 times. Concerned though that the warping bottom plate that is supposed to be removable for ash disposal is going to get worse, it already almost impossible to remove as it has bent to the shape of a Pringle. We still enjoy the stove but not sure how long it will last.

This is a beautiful fire pit, however it smokes as much as an open campfire! If you are hoping for low smoke - sadly this fire pit is not the one you seek.
