This is well made and it didn't scratch the surface. It's getting to know how to get the correct temperature may take some time. But it's an awesome electric hot plate. So far so good. It is huge. I don't hear anything that's loud it's easy to use and what I like about it it has a timer and a child safety lock just in case an adult touches something unintended. Cuz I already did that so I had to make sure I hit the child lock and it works very well.

This portable electric burner is very convenient for travel, or just for cooking someplace that is not your kitchen. The inner ring / outer ring / dual ring options give you some versatility in adjusting the amount of heat necessary for whatever you are cooking. I like the safety features - the child lock locks out all controls. That is a great feature to turn on if you are getting this out and ready, but aren't ready to actually cook yet. You can prevent accidents from happening. I also like that there is a built in timer - so if you are cooking something for a specific time, you can do that, and it will automatically turn the burner off when the timer hits zero. The directions say to leave it plugged in for five minutes after using the burner so the fan (which is quieter than expected) can continue to cool. The display actually tells you when the surface is still hot. I left it plugged in for about 15 minutes after cooking. The fan turned itself off after about ten minutes, and after fifteen minutes the display indicated that the surface was no longer hot. These are great features to keep using this portable burner as safe as possible. I also like the length of the cord. Many products that have a heating element for some reason have very short cords, but the generous 5 foot cord gives you some flexibility for placement of the burner. One last thing - 1800 watts sounds like a lot, but if you are boiling water, expect it to take longer than on a traditional stove. The pot I normally use takes about 25 - 30 minutes on my regular stovetop, but took a little over 40 on this burner. Same pot - same fill amount. Not a knock against the product, just setting expectations. Convenience sometimes requires some tradeoffs.

Footprint is ok, it is large but I needed a large one. The display is absolutely useless. It is so dim that it can't be read without holding my phone up to the readout and magnifying it by zooming in. The setup and use directions are useless also.
