  • Hatching Eggs Became My Family’s New Obsession
I got this incubator for a backyard chicken project, and it’s been such a fun addition to our homestead. Last month, we loaded it up with a dozen eggs from our neighbor’s hens, and the whole family got hooked watching them hatch. The clear lid is awesome, my kids spent hours checking on the eggs, turning it into a mini science lesson. The automatic egg turner was a lifesaver, I didn’t have to mess with flipping them every few hours, and it kept the humidity steady. The temperature stayed rock-solid, even when our garage got chilly at night. We ended up with 10 out of 12 eggs hatching, which felt like a win for first-timers. Adding water through the little hole was easy, no need to open it up and lose heat. The built-in light for checking eggs was handy, my daughter loved spotting the tiny chicks moving inside. Only hiccup was figuring out the controls at first, but a quick read of the manual sorted it. This thing’s simple to clean and use, and it’s turned our egg-hatching experiment into a family bonding adventure. ... show more

  • Here's hoping!!
I am currently rating this incubator at a four-star rating. I am testing out multiple incubators right now, and there are things that I like about each one and then there's things that I dislike about each one. I am attempting to be honest and fair in my assessments. The biggest reason this did not get a five-star rating, just to start, is for two reasons. The first one is that the end of the incubator where it shows the rounded out area where the motor for the Turner is, has a hole in the top. This, to me, seems like a very poor design feature. You now have water going into an incubator and you're going to be dealing with damp eggs, and now you have an open electrical system with a hole in the top. That makes me uncomfortable. if you were adding water in the middle of the night, and you were not being careful, you could definitely accidentally add water to the turning motor. I chose to go with the soda bottle method, so that's not a concern for me as the soda bottle will be where the water gets added. The second reason that this is getting a little bit less of a star review than I typically would give starting out, is the color. I am not a person who really cares about the color of an incubator, But when you advertise something as a specific color and then you send something of a completely different color, that definitely seems like false advertising. This was listed as a blue incubator, it came as a gray incubator. Not even remotely blue. Now for the next thing is the instructions. The instruction manual that came with it is okay. It's not the best written instruction manual that I've ever read, but it is not the worst. It was easily followed. It also has instructions for hatching, Which is nice. You can definitely tell that the instructions were written outside of the United states, they are worded differently than how we would typically word things here in the us. Still totally understandable though. The Turner is different than any Turner I have experienced, only in the fact that it doesn't do a full rotation every time that it turns. Most of my incubators, when they roll the eggs, you can see that they do at least a full rotation of the eggs sometimes two rotations. This one barely does half of a rotation. Again, I will be updating on hatch day. So I will be able to determine at that point if this is enough rotation. I am currently incubating 11 bielefelder chicken hatching eggs and 13 quail hatching eggs in this. The chicken eggs take 21 days to hatch. The quail eggs take 18 days to hatch. I will be removing quail eggs from this incubator and placing them into another incubator without the Turner when it comes to that point. As I can't take the Turner out for the chicken eggs on the same day as the quail eggs. As soon as I have done my hatch day. I will come back and update the review. At this point I am hopeful that everything is going to be great and we are going to get a nice hatch, but only time will tell. I look forward to hatch day and I will update at that point. ... show more

  • Works fine
I think this is a knock off because the pictures in the instruction booklet are different than what came. The display is misspelled and the button pictures are different, but I think it works because today my first chick hatched! This is my first time using a incubator, so I think I'm doing good so far and it works even though the display looks like a knock off. ... show more

  • The size is small and the price is too much
It does not hold 18 large chicken eggs... it barely holds 12 medium chicken eggs

  • Seems like a nice incubator
So far, seems like a nice incubator. Set up was decently easy but instructions could be better for button usage...had to figure out some buttons by myself to change settings and I'm not sure if the day counter can be reset yet or not. We are currently on day 16 for goose eggs so we have a few more weeks to see if they hatch. The manual also talks about putting Styrofoam insulator over the top but that was not included and it was with some of my other incubators....so that was a negative for me. If the eggs still hatch then I'm fine with that but if they don't I'll change my review. The candle light is nice, super bright. Has an alarm for temp and water shortage for humidity. Turns automatically. So far so good! ... show more

  • It works pretty good, just not a fan of the interface design.
I've used very simple to very complex incubators, cheap to expensive. It really depends on your needs for me to rate this in such a generic sense. Firstly, You are going to get about 12 chicken eggs in this. If you have larger eggs, then you'll most likely need to remove the spinning tray, which means you will need to manually turn your eggs. For chicken eggs, however, it will do the job. - The tray spins and turns the eggs. Sometimes you may need to help one that isn't turning well, but for the most part the spinning tray performs good. - The controls are ok. I've certainly used easier controls and I'm not a big fan of the design. Everything is located on the top, even the power cable. - The connection for a standard plastic bottle is a welcome inclusion. - The temperature is consistent. *4 stars! ... show more
