This is my first canister filter but I've had tanks for many years. Set up was fairly easy but directions were definitely lacking a bit. Common sense got me through, along with some google searches. Make sure to push your tubing on properly and tighten it. Once it was set up, absolutely no issues and no leaks. It's been running quietly ever since. Changing/accessing media isn't difficult but again, directions do not guide you well. My tank is clear and beautiful and it was worth the effort to figure everything out on my own. I like the UV light but I do wish it had a timer so I could just set it to run it a couple hours a day and not think about it. For the price this thing is amazing. Very happy!

I'm actually using this canister filter in conjunction with my 110 gallon HOB filter and my in tank UV light. I installed this filter about 2 weeks ago and when I last cleaned my tank I'm noticing that there is very little algae growth compared to what I was getting before. Also, this filter also has an UV light option as well and I'm considering removing the in tank UV light completely with would be great for giving my fish more swimming space and enrichment. It was pretty easy to assemble, but you really do need to have a funnel in order to fill the reservoir with the required amount of water. If you fail to do this, the filter will become very loud and annoying. It's very quiet otherwise and you won't hear it at all.

Only have a 20 gal long tank but always used multiple filters so I thought I’d give canister a try. So far I’m very satisfied. No leaks, after reading a few times not too tough to set up. Gave 4 star because instructions don’t tell you the way the water flows so I hope I’ve got the media in right. Super super quiet. Will update if anything changes but happy so far!!

This filter is running as a complementary polishing filter on my 40gal community tank. I have a lot of Cory cats and a couple bristle nose plecos that make a decent amount of waste in that tank, and the water clarity isn't exactly what I would call crystal clear. I stuffed this filter with 3 types of sponge, and a ton of filter floss, and it's done wonders! My aqua cannister does all the heavy lifting and keeps water quality acceptable for my fish to thrive, and this filter clears up all the tiny bits that make it through to give me crystal clear water. My fish literally look like they're floating in mid air with how clear it is. The output is pretty solid for the amount of media I've stuffed in there, and I'm honestly impressed from this brand I've never heard of. If I had something like a 20 gallon, I feel confident that this cannister would do a good job. It's very quiet, which is expected for a cannister. Overall, I can't recommend it enough!

I'm using this to help purify the water in my cold plunge. It made the water kind of blackish. I'm hoping as it breaks in, the filter media will stop releasing whatever it is that causes the water to look bad. Also, the pump has to fully be primed in order for it to work - if there is any air, it won't pump the water.
