I got this fire pit to enjoy outdoor gatherings with friends, but it has some quirks worth mentioning. The main issue is the slotted bottom, which allows ashes and soot to fall directly onto whatever surface it’s placed on. While my back porch is concrete and can handle it, I’d be very hesitant to use this over a wood deck or any sensitive surface—it could leave stains or even pose a fire hazard if embers land in the wrong spot. The size is another limitation. It can hold one or two standard-sized logs, which means frequent refueling if you're trying to keep the fire going for a while. On the upside, its smaller size might be a bonus for safety since the fire will burn out quickly if left unattended. That said, it’s very sturdy. The metal construction held up to heat and even some rain before I finally got to use it. The slots on the sides and bottom allow for excellent airflow, which means you’ll get a hot, efficient burn. It’s also great for quick marshmallow roasting or a cozy, short gathering. Overall, it’s a decent fire pit, especially for its portability and durability, but just keep in mind its size and the ash-dropping issue when deciding where to use it. Mondazie is Very Creative with the Interlocking Design of the 17 Inch Outdoor Fire Pit for Camping. It is Very Easy to Assemble, We keep the Legs together with the Sides stacked on top for Storage in the RV. I Wasn't Thrilled with the Open Slats in the Bottom Plate, Similar to the ones on the sides, The Images Clearly show it Burning Sitting on top of Green Grass THAT is Very Misleading -> Hot Ashes and Ambers Flow Freely through all of the Slats while Burning. We only use it in a Existing Fire Pit or not at all for that reason alone. The Steel Construction is Quite Durable & the Basic Design Needs to be Tweaked to make this a First Rate Product. I only gave the Mondazie 17 Inch Outdoor Fire Pit Three Stars, there is room for improvement on their Design.

Reviewing Mondazie 17 Inch Outdoor Fire Pit for Camping, This is a little esmaller than expected but not extreme. The measurements are included in the listing, I just didn’t pay close enough attention. The size still works well, but it is not a solid bottom, which means it has limited usefulness outside of a ground fire pit. I’ll explain more below. It is solid steel so is durable and sturdy construction. It needs assembled, but it only took 15 to 20 minutes to assemble and that includes a few interruptions. It comes with a bag, but I’m not sure why because once it’s put together, it doesn’t collapse. You would need to totally take it apart for transport, which doesn’t make sense. It’s only about 15 lbs, so you can pick it up and transport it in an assembled state, but if you’ve been using it, it would be ashy and dirty and doesn’t fit in the bag when it’s put together, so that doesn’t make much sense. The bottom has slates, just like sides, which means it’s open to the ground below, just like the sides. I can’t put this on the patio and have a fire without ash and embers falling out onto the patio. The same for putting it out in the yard, or at a campsite on the grass or brush. It needs to be set on/in a ground firepit so that any embers or ash that falls out is contained in the firepit. That seems very silly to me to have a firepit that needs to put in a firepit for safety reasons. It would be much more useful if it was a solid bottom and at least a solid insert to go around the sides. Rating 4 stars because the listing is mentions the sides are ‘hollow’ but not the bottom. If I could rate 3.5 stars, I would.

Any opportunity to start a fire is good for me! This heavy metal fire pit is a unique way to enjoy some burning embers. With its wide gaps you can easily see the burning fire and feel the heat from it too. It's easily assembled and disassembled and comes with a bag to store it in. 2 things to mention: you'll need plenty of small pieces of dry wood to get your fire going and you'll need to find something to catch the ashes while the fire is burning. This fire pit seems well made and durable. With proper cleaning and storage it should be around for quite some time.
