Once the seal was ready to be installed this product works great. You will need to prep the seal prior to installation due to it coming rolled up. I actually installed mine in one hour. I used 3/4” pex to fill the seal up and creat the round affect. Closed the door. Waited for two days and pulled the pex out. Now it holds its shape. Easy peasy. Biggest concern is making sure you purchase the right seal for the right retainer. If you don’t understand this part I recommend you hire a handyman or door guy.

This is NOT a “bulb” style seal. It arrives rolled up flat like tape and no matter what you do, it remains flat. It is not as described or shown in the product photos. After going through the trouble of installing it, it’s obvious that it will not provide a good water seal and if that’s what you need (I do), you should look elsewhere. Waste of my money!

Unrolled the seals onto the concrete drive & allowed them to soften/straighten/relax in the sun for two days, periodically flipping & forming them to help the bulb resume its round shape. (Since evenings were cool, brought them back inside overnight) After heating on the concrete for several hours on the third day, I liberally sprayed two heavy coats of silicon lubricant on both sides ?all over the seals, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next & flipping. With one hand feeding the seal at groove entry & the other hand about a foot downstream exerting a coordinated pull, the entire seal fed in with no difficulty. Tempted to go ahead & purchase another set for when these wear out.

The seal arrives rolled like a roll of tape. Because it is shipped flat and rolled tightly, the bottom is not a round bulb but a flat flap. So flat that it has a permanent crease. We unrolled it and let it relax for a couple days in the house. We tried to remove the flat crease with hair dryer and clamps and four-letter words. Tried inflating with compressed air. Tried working it until all fingers and thumbs are sore. Nothing is working. I would not recommend this if you are expecting a round bulb that squishes to make a seal against the concrete floor.
