My gas lines started leaking and need to be replaced so the gas has been turned off to my house. I live in the Northeast of the U.S. and it is winter time. It is too cold to take cold showers at this time. I bought this to use until the lines are replaced. The first time I used it was to heat a full bathtub. It actually got too hot and I had to let it cool down before I could use it. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have used this a few times to heat my kids a bath and if I even get a week out of it, the price will have been worth it. It’s a great emergency item to have around. Manufacture claims to heat 5 gallons quickly so if you are planning to heat more than that plan for it to take a longer time, I leave it alone for about an hour. You can always add cold water to it. If it’s too hot, just be careful follow the directions which are simple and on the box don’t plug it in until it is submerged under the water don’t put your hand in the water while it is on and unplug it before removing it from the water. My personal advice: While extension cords are never recommended make sure to use industrial (commonly orange) ,like you would with an outside tool. When doing this know that it can over heat the cord or plug just like a heater would and potentially start a fire(( not from the product use )) use your best judgment and be safe. Hope this helps!!!

Ran our first test today in our master bath corner tub and it worked absolutely great! We went from luke warm to 107 in no time! No more stove heating water for that extra level of hotness on the really tough days where a soak is in order! If this is the same thing you are looking for I would say stop scrolling and give it a try.

UPDATE: I have changed the rating from one star to five because the seller saw my review and immediately offered me the option of a refund or replacement! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Put it in the hot tub, plugged it in, light turned on, saw a few bubbles, than light turned off. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in a few times. No luck.

Takes so long to heat up the water

I used it on our 10ft diameter, 26" tall, 1000 gallon above ground pool. Raised the temp from 70f to 85f in about 8 hrs. Surprised it worked at all. I also used a black solar cover, which acts like a pot lid on the pool.
