I have a jeep 2015 grand cherokee limited This screen is big and wonderful... perfect to renew your jeep and feel more in a starship than a old car, android auto works great after some try and the sound is very good once you adjust the speakers and amplifier relatively to your own stereo system and not the instructions ... just a question of equalizing the sound feeling the bass, middle and highs correct distribution... you will find the right sound for your car and speakers... youtube works great and the commands from the steering wheel are perfectly working in real time ...all works including the air conditioned touch screen buttons... very satisfied with it. You should buy it now!!!

I had this for a few months now and I've messed with it ALOT. It's not what I thought it would be. It's got a lot of positives over the stock UConnect 8.4" that came in my Grand Cherokee, but I think the con's overshadow those for me. With that being said, I'm still going to keep it as my stock UConnect unit was broken, which is why I bought this. I originally thought that I would be able to put all my music (160 GBs) on a flash drive and keep it connected to one of the two USB ports. Well that was my first disappointment! Turns out the USB maximum size is 64 GB. It won't recognize anything over that. And it's real finicky about even seeing two USB flash drives, much less allowing you to use one when another is plugged in. The preloaded media player for MP3s/etc... will not list out any music you have on the internal memory or USB. You have to find the file in the folder and then click to play it. Which is total crap in my book. I tried 3 of the most popular media players out there and they will only pull from internal memory to build your library. Even though they showed options to pull form the flash drives connected to the USB ports, they never actually did. PowerAmp is the media player I stuck with as it does have a ton of features that make this thing easy and nice to use for digital music playback. Now one big let down was music quality. My Grand Cherokee came with the 10 speaker system with the sub in the cargo area. It sounded great with the stock UConnect unit with the volume turned way up. This unit however, is a total turd at high volume. The reason is because it has it's own EQ that is then going through the stock system EQ. How that is happening, I'm not sure. But under the car settings app, where you can set all the factory settings for your vehicle, there are stereo settings: EQ, fade, balance, Volume, etc... So it sounds pretty good at lower volume, but then it just gets blown out at higher volume. I can't even get volume as high as I could with the UConnect unit before it's just awful. Which really sucks, because I really like some loud music. And it gets even worse when you add any other app that has it's own EQ. Which PowerAmp and others do. Then it's going through three EQ's because they have to go through the apps EQ, then the unit's built in EQ, then the factory UConnect's EQ. Which for some strange reason is still there. It does not retain the factory mic. Now lets talk about carplay and wifi. This was another big let down. It does have carplay, both android and IOS. And the sound from carplay using my iPhone is pretty good, but yet high volume it gets lousy. You can't use carplay to navigate and listen to the radio at the same time. Which I know is probably just a me thing, but I want that ability. I got it to work a couple times, but I'm not sure how I did it and I haven't been able to do it again since. You can't use your phone as a hotspot to pass wifi to the unit and use carplay at the same time, it's one or the other. This unit has the ability to take a SIM card, which will give the unit wifi via 4G, 5G?. I'm still not sure if it works on 5G or not. I tried T-Mobile as that's who I have my cell service through, the sim would not work. Customer service told me that other customers have had luck with Mint or Verizon. I got a Mint Mobile SIM and that worked. Having wifi for the unit is great, it really comes alive and is very useful. But it negates having carplay on it, at least for me anyway. Which is one the big reasons I bought the dang thing. But having the google maps and being able to search on the go and then call or navigate to the place is great. And having youtube is very nice while I'm waiting for whatever I'm waiting for. Plus all the other apps that it opens up. But again, it's like having a phone for a radio, so do I need my actual phone other to make calls from a number that my family and friends recognize? The unit itself looks great, the rose gold surround almost matches the stock color, but it's just a it brighter. But it's still had to tell unless you have the USB/charger port cover down and they are right next to each other. I keep that open all the time so it's doesn't bother me. You still have all the HVAC controls, vehicle controls, even a cool gauge page for your vehicle with oil temp, oil pressure, etc... It does have a lot of cool features. With all this being said, it's still a stereo and I find it lacking in that area. I love if I could turn off the unit's EQ, or just find a way to use one EQ so the sound quality could be better. That part right there is what made me give it 2 stars. That part needs to be better. And if I'm missing something, please tell me so I can fix it and I'll gladly change the rating.

I bought this last month, after doing a research about other radios. My Jeep is Grand Cherokee 2017 DIESEL. I never thought that after installing it by myself with a big, big help of a nephew, everything was working, except for two things: the Up/Down knobs behind the wheel in the left hand was working upside down. I asked and they show me a setting in order to fix it. The other, was that I had a yellow light check engine turn on after two-three days after the installation (it said something about the shift). I asked what was wrong and they send me a patch to the firmware and it looks that it would work, but no. So, again, I sent a message and they sent me back another patch. Now it is working. That patch fix the firmware, so, even if I have to do a factory reset, the patch is embedded in the firmware. So, keep in mind that customer service WORKS. There are two thing that I like about this: a) it came with a connector to a sim card, so, it work without your cell phone (this is optional, of course it will work with your cell phone and car play/android auto), and b) it will use the built in antennas (GPS and radio). It brings their own 4G ones, so, you won't use the other two. What I don't like is that does not include a back camera. It works with the stock one, but it is low resolution. Now, that you have a brand new HR screen, it is not too nice. Now, the software. It has two settings: the android settings (mine came with android 13), which is the same if you have an android tablet with all the programs you want to install like waze, google maps is included, whatsapp or another kind of communication software, etc. And, of course, the car settings, which is tailored to Jeep Grand Cherokee from 2014 to 2020. I bought three other devices to install and every one of them had a problem, no sound, slow, you have to connect another mic, they don't listen when you talk through your cell phone, the images of the icons are tall or awkward, and the misspelled words. Bottom line: it's a little expensive when you compare with other 200-400 dollar car play stereo devices, but it worth it.

The media could not be loaded. This radio has been my best purchase for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee! Installation wasn’t bad with some prior experience and a few YouTube videos. The SIM card option for online usage and maps alongside GPS very convenient when don’t want to use your CarPlay or Android Auto. I love the wireless charging for my phone, another bonus! The touchscreen replacing the button climate control is nice. The customer service has been amazing, promptly answering all my tech questions. I’d definitely recommend it!
