    • Decent, basic beginning set of binoculars for the amateur
I am just an amateur binocular user and I have only used a pair a few times in my life, so I cannot review this from the standpoint of someone more experienced. With that being said, I can say that these are a pretty basic, useful pair. They come with a strap, cleaning cloth, eye piece cover, and carrying case. The instructions are basic and simple and come in a variety of languages. For viewing birds in my own backyard, these work great. The viewing quality is mediocre, I would say. They are lightweight, compact, and functional. They are adjustable. I have narrow set eyes and I am able to use these. They may work for kids too depending on pupillary distance. I’m suspecting people whose eyes are wider apart than average may have issues. I like that you can focus one eye at a time and that they have soft eye cups which can be rolled back for people wearing glasses. There is a cover for the eye pieces on the viewing side only. Unfortunately the plastic loop for attaching them to the strap broke and I will have to glue it for it to be functional. I was able to attach the strap to the binoculars themselves, and adjust the length of the strap so they rested on my abdomen (for reference I’m about 5’5”). I would prefer a shorter length, but the strap can only get shortened to a certain length even though it’s adjustable on both sides. The case can be used with the straps attached to the binoculars, however they don’t fit inside the case well at the same time. There is a belt loop on the case which may come in handy. The case is soft and that can help protect the binoculars, however it seems like they could get crushed easily in the case if left on the bottom of another bag with heavier items on top. The binoculars seem to be made mostly of plastic and inexpensive materials. I’m not sure how these will hold up over time. I rating these with 4 stars because they are simple and function to the degree to which I personally need them. Although, I may agree with a 3 star or even a 2 star rating depending on the reason purchased and expectations from the product. Just got it today. Have not figured out how to attach the shoulder strap. Can't seem to be able to do so. Vision seems OK. I have seen better but this will do.

I was pleasantly surprised by the zoom factor on these! They are super light and feel a bit cheap, but overall seem to be decent quality for throwing in a backpack or having in the car.
