  • J1772 Extension Cable… Excellent Product!
Size: 21 ft - 40 amp
I bought this cable as an extension to my home EnelX charger when we bought a second EV car and the original cable was not long enough. Out of the package one can tell this is a very well made product! Both ends have well fitting dust caps and it comes with a convenient well constructed storage case. So far the cable has worked flawlessly! ... show more

  • Quality product
Size: 21 ft - 40 amp
So far so good. Well made, sturdy but lightweight, flexible cord, easy to coil. Very pleased. Hopefully it holds up.

  • Excellent extension cord
Size: 12 ft- 40 amp
Look no further; this cord is made well and performs as it should. There's no noticeable impact to charging speeds when using the 12ft extension. Bonus points for being made in the USA.

  • Rated for 48 amps
Size: 20 ft- 48 amp
I purchased the 48 amp extension. It is made of #8 (or 8 AWG) wire. This is the same size as the cable used on a 48A Clipper Creek charger. A 40A Clipper Creek charger uses #10 (or 10 AWG), which lines up with the 40A extension sold by Inteset. I've only used the cable once at 24A so far, but it worked flawlessly. The terminations look professional, and the bag is a nice touch. The cable itself is heavy but flexible and has no memory issues (it does not curl up on its own when stretched out). It came with a label zip tied to the cable that indicates the maximum size charger to use. I plan on leaving that attached as a reminder. As an emergency extender this cable seems to be the best choice. I purchased a 50A extension cord that would go between the charger and socket, but realized that only works with a 14-50 receptacle. This 48A extension will work with whatever charger is available and at L2 or L1 charge rates. I purchased the 48A version as that is the highest charge rate my Mustang Mach E will accept. So I can use this extension with higher rated chargers as the car will limit the current to 48A, which happens to be the rating of this cable. I want to include some information on the NEC (NFPA 70) and the rating of this cable. These reviews had me really concerned as I do not want to burn down my house! However, people are attempting to apply building code to the size of this cable. That is not appropriate. For anyone interested please refer to NEC, 2023 revision, section 625.17(B), pg 559: the NEC does not specify the size of the cable between the charger (EVSE) and the vehicle, they leave that to UL. There are NEC specifications (625.17(A)(2) pg 559) for the cable between the charger and the receptacle (or electrical box that connects to the building wiring) but that references the 'flexible cord' tables 400.4, 400.5(A)(1), and 400.5(A)(2) on pages 287 and 288. Those tables do NOT use the 80% rule; probably because these cables are not to be placed inside walls, use different insulation, etc. As these tables should not be applied to this extension I included what size of cable 40A and 48A chargers use which is #10 and #8 respectively and is the same size as the cables offered by Inteset. This would be a safe check when using the extension... if the charger cable is smaller or the same size as the extension (per label on the side of the cable, not the diameter of the cable) then you're good to go! Also, wire size is backwards: #8 is bigger than #10, which is bigger than #12, etc. ... show more

  • Impressive product
Size: 21 ft - 40 amp
The cable assembly is made of very good materials with exceptional fit and finish. I have used the extension cable several times to charge my EV without an issue. And it is made in the USA.

  • Cable exposed at cable nut area
Size: 20 ft- 48 amp
The cable has been exposed at the cable nut for months. Quality isn’t too good. Too bad the warranty isn’t available to use to get it fixed…

  • High Quality and Heavy Duty Product of USA, See Update
Size: 21 ft - 40 amp
Update 2 (3/2023): My cable finally completely failed last week. Neither car would charge from the cable anymore. Since the cable was now 1.5 years out of warranty, I went ahead and disassembled it and found that, on the socket end, both of the main conductors had come out of the pins. The only one still intact was the ground. The problem was the copper conductors were not crimped as the current video shows, but instead were poorly soldered. There wasn't enough solder applied to the hot and neutral conductors and they simply pulled out eventually. I was able to properly re-solder them, allowing the liquid solder to flow inside the pins, so they would not pull out again and the cable is working. As mentioned above, it now appears that they crimp the connections rather than soldering them, which will make for a much more reliable and longer-lasting cable. Good move on their part. Update 1: After 2 years, the outer (black) sheath insulation on the charger (socket) end of the cable slipped out of the connector, exposing the inner wires. They are still pretty well insulated, but during rain, it could allow moisture to enter the charger end socket connector. The vendor stated the cable was out of warranty and wanted to charge me $50, and, of course, I would have had to play outbound postage, to fix it, so I went ahead and loosened the compression nut so it again covered the end of the outer insulation. The root of the problem is that the insulation on the socket end was stripped back too far and, after exposure to cold weather, the outer insulation shrunk back enough to expose the conductors. Unfortunately, the outer insulation shrunk again and re-exposed the conductors. Initial Review: This feels like a well made product with high quality connectors and cable. I also like the fact that it's made in America. The storage bag is also a nice perk. Overall, so far I think it's a very good product and it certainly has come in handy to help us avoid having to move our two EVs around to charge one or the other as we have a one-car garage and the charger cable is not long enough to reach the second car parked behind. ... show more

  • Quality product and works great!
Size: 21 ft - 40 amp
Purchased this product as the charger at my work garage does not extend far enough to reach my rear charging port and the garage prohibits cars from backing into a spot. The build quality is very good. There were slightly cheaper alternatives on Amazon but I decided to pay a little bit of a premium for a made in the USA product. There is no loss in the speed of charging using this extender. Was getting about 22 miles or about 6kwh per hour at my work garage before and after using this product. Glad I can finally charge now in my work garage without worrying about being ticketed for backing in. ... show more
