I plan to set up a home gym in the basement. Since my house doesn't have central air conditioning, the basement lacks heating and cooling. Bought unit. I didnt install right away. I went over my 30 day return. Came on and worked 1 night. Then threw a l 3 code. Company sent a new board. Didn't fix problem. Now waiting for next idea. So far i have $140.00 paying a hvac man. Should have got a better one

My husband and his buddy tackled the install themselves and it took them a solid 3 hours start to finish. Honestly relieved it's done because this NYC heat this summer was becoming unbearable before we got it running. One thing that could've been a real problem this needs a dedicated 220 line running to the outside unit and we got lucky the previous tenant had already set one up for their EV charger. My husband just tapped into that instead of paying an electrician to run a whole new line which saved us a decent chunk of money honestly. Living room is genuinely cold now like actually cold and not just 'less hot' like our old window unit used to manage. Display on the indoor unit looks sleek too and fits the room better than I expected and it doesn't look like some bulky appliance stuck on the wall. The mobile app works fine for adjusting it from bed before we even get up. For anyone else in an older house without existing 220 wiring just to you know that part's not optional but if you've got a line already like we did and definitely makes this whole project way easier. ... show more

This mini split was fairly easy to install as a DIY. The instruction book is well done. As a note you do need to have/borrow or purchase a vacuum and gauges set. When running it is very quiet and the remote is easy to set up and use.
