I am so glad I found this book on Amazon, I grew up on only herbal supplements and feel very safe using them. As a baby my medicine for a cold was extract of holy bazil that we referred to as baby bush, nowadays hearing all the talk about green food supplement makes me smile because my great grand parents had an herb for every ailment, and cod liver oil was never far away. I have been using the supplements for one month now and I even forget that I had a problem with dry eyes. Dr. Abel thank you for this book and for your integrity, you now have a new patient. The information in this book is not only for eye problems, it has also helped my carpal tunnel pain. 7/13/2013 I followed Dr. Abel's recommendations in this book and received remarkable results with a few of the supplements he recommended. I have not changed the font on this computer and I am able to read articles and write emails without my reading glasses. At first I thought my vision was getting worse, before realizing my glasses were now too strong, my distant vision is also great. I had seen an Opthamogolist prior to reading this book and was given two prescriptions without any explanation. I went outside of his establishment to find out about what type of glasses I needed, when I was told a drugstore reading glasses would work just fine for me unless I wanted to spend unnecessarily. It is great to know that we still have some professionals with a conscience and integrity. Along with the supplements I also take Green Vibrance powder daily. An excellent book written by a doctor who knows how to explain and put across to the layman the ability to easily understand and digest the information.Lots and lots of tips and references and anecdotes that you can easily relate to. If you have any vision problems and are looking for an alternative view rather than the conventional method, then this is the book for you. I would definately rate it 10/10. This is a doctor who has alot of experience and takes alot of interest in his patients overall health and well-being. ... show more

My dear aunt is 98 and suffers with macular degeneration. A dental friend told me about this book so I ordered it for her. She said she is reading it from cover to cover and is anxious to learn how to manage her eye disease.

Like another reviewer I didn't check the release date of this book before I bought it. I paid way to much for information that is 10 to 15 years old. It seems outdated and behind the times. In its day it was a good book. It has some good info on nutrition and eye exercises but you can pretty much get that info anywhere. I was also disappointed it didn't cover some common eye problems. This book would be worth a read if you can find it used really cheap. ... show more

This book is exactly what I had hoped for in the way of eye care, both alternative and main-stream medicine. I first heard Dr. Abel on People's Pharmacy on NPR. I think the book is so important I purchased another copy for a friend in the integrated medicine field who also has eye conditions.

I ordered the book after listening to Dr Abel's interview on People's Pharmacy. I was impressed and the book did not fail me.It is a great book with holistic approach to eye. Confirms the science of iridology that you can detect the health condition of a person through the eye!.

    • good enough book for anyone wanting surgery
good enough book for anyone wanting surgery. was hoping for a better guide to eye care that avoids pharmaceuticals and surgery. could have been much clearer in anatomy and physiology of eye. decent enough in explaining disease and standard medical choices. so it was helpful.
