As our old clock started running on its own schedule we looked for a replacement. The ticking sound bothers someone in this house and all the clocks we have emit ticking sounds so we wanted to try one without. This was advertised as silent. It doesn't disappoint and so far the time reading is accurate. Of course how accurate it will be throughout its life we have no idea. But at this time it works perfectly and even the ticking sound agitator doesn't notice any sound in his bedroom. We like it! ... show more

i thought it was going to be a send back. New batteries AND put inthe correct way. Had to prod the contacts a bit. No result, then slapped it! It started up! So far so good, it's telling the correct time. China. Enough said.
