I ordered this twice. Both times they sent a different model. The second time I tried it. The chail was extremely dull and it seemed to drain the battery quickly. Don't waste your time. Spend the extra money and get the Dewalt chainsaw. I did and it works much better.

Simple affordable saw compatible with the DeWalt batteries. Plastic housing feels a bit cheap but for the price point for what it is. When hooking up the chain, the cover was a little hard to get on but works fine once on. The odd thing was the pics made it look yellow but it was actually light green when I got it, not a big deal but just wasn't expecting it to be green.

Great for pruning, and more! Picked this up for basic pruning, as intended, but wound up putting it to heavier-duty use when a big tree came down, and I had no full-size saws on hand to clear the street & driveway. I was able to make good progress with this, despite using it to punch way outside of its intended weight class... it was safe and intuitive to use, even on a bigger job it wasn't meant for, and I felt I had a good amount of control and reliable power throughout. Won't make a habit of using it on bigger jobs like this, but grateful it was able to step up to that task!

Cuts pretty good to be honest. Takes a lot of pressure to bog it down. Just as long as you keep the chain sharp it'll cut.

For a battery chainsaw it works okay compared to ones in it's class. A wide selection of these 6" chainsaws are now prevalent with an even wider variation in price point. I have yet to handle one that has a lot going for it. If you are going to get one though - I would suggest this one. It's not better than any on the others but much more affordable. Generally, these are limited to what they will do for you - small, small branches- cordless, accept existing batteries you may have. These take dewalt- that I already have. You are not going to cut down a tree either from battery capacity or saw ability. But it will tackle branches just a little to big for a lopper. And will do quite a few before needing to swap batteries. It's also light if you pack it somewhere. I used it for clearing hunting areas. Cleaning a path, removing branches for climbing. Worked fairly well. Quicker than a hand saw. Less work. Lighter and quieter than a gas saw. Would work for a few small branches to clean up around the house, if you only had a few. It would take longer to get your gas chainsaw, or corded chainsaw out, prepped and ready to go. If you have more than 20 minutes worth - I'd go ahead and get the bigger stuff out. It doesn't cut nearly as fast as a regular chainsaw, but faster than a hand saw. It's somewhat useful in limited chores. But will work okay when you stay in that limit. This specific one has a better price point than the other by a lot, so if you are really set on one, this would be the one I'd recommend if you already have dewalt batteries.

Reviewing: Cordless Mini Chainsaw for Dewalt Battery 20V MAX, 6 INCH Brushless Handheld Chainsaw, 13.2 FT/S Quick Cutting w/2 Chains, Lightweight, Battery Powered Small Chainsaw for Wood Trees Cutting These mini chainsaw's are great for heavier trimming where loppers or pruning shears can't do the job. While they aren't powerful enough or with enough battery life to cut down and section a tree, it is impressive what they can do. I've cut branches and limbs up to 4" in diameter with this saw and it works great. The saw cuts through wood like a knife through butter and so far the blade feels as sharp as on the first day. Super easy to use; just attach a battery, put a bit of oil on the blade with the included oiling bottle (oil not included) and start cutting. Adjusting chain tension is quick and simple with the screwdriver included. Also comes with gloves, safety glasses, and an extra chain. Note the saw does NOT come with a battery but many Dewalt batteries will fit. One thing I did find is that while trimming bushes smaller twigs would get trapped in the saw body around the chain drive gear. Clearing them requires loosening or removing the chain cover which is easy with the thumb screw. Putting the cover back on however can be a challenge as the captured screw on the saw tends to drop into the body slightly at which point the thumbscrew will not engage. And because it is a captured screw, there is no way to get anything behind it to pull it back into place. From there it becomes a game of pulling the screw out into place before delicately reinstalling the cover and screw. My tip: pull out any trapped twigs immediately to keep the drive gear clear so as to avoid having to remove the cover and thumbscrew.
