While we love the convenience of this gate to keep our dog in the yard, it does not hold up to winds over 30 mph so if you live in a windy area or a storm is coming, you’ll need to retract it back. Our first one broke in the wind as it pulled it so far out that it wouldn’t retract back in and there’s no way to open it up and manually get it to go back in. So now we just keep it open on windy days and put our dog on a leash for those days. ... show more

Good product, good value. You need a solid wall or post to attach the screen housing. You must have a solid base for the short post that the far end of the screen attaches to. I have a wood deck and was able to screw two of the four screws through the deck into a joist. Just screwing to the deck may not be stout enough. Expansion bolts for installing in a concrete slab are included, but you will need a masonry drill bit (the instructions don't tell you what size). ... show more
