This is a good product. There are a lot of pieces so plan accordingly and you’ll be good. I had to put mine on posts so it would fit on my back porch but I really enjoy it. I will start by saying the final product is awesome. Very sturdy and does the trick for shelter/shade. BE PREPARED: what they don’t tell you on Amazon is this thing recommends 4-5 people to assemble, which we learned after opening the box and reading the instructions. Two of us women were able to assemble it by ourselves though (with some creative problem solving). It took the two of us 6-7hrs all in to assemble. I will say, if you aren’t used to building things, this will be quite the chore as the photo instructions are not clear as far as where the holes are oriented on certain pieces and how they are meant to line up. Basic tool/assembly knowledge is definitely a must for troubleshooting while building this. The polycarbonate does provide shade, however there is a lot of direct sun glare that shines in your eyes since the sheets still let in some light (see photo). It works great for UV protection and cools the space down drastically. We had to add some mesh underneath to block the glare (personal preference). Overall great product!
