So, instead of getting rid of them I thought that perhaps new, brighter shades may help. I found these shades on Amazon, measured carefully and placed my order. They arrived quickly and I have to say that I could not possibly be more pleased. Pleased with how great they look, how well they are fabricated and how much light shines through them … like night and day compared to those dark shades (which are in the trash). Nice shades. Measure as stated. Although it's likely no one else will notice, there is a nickle-size dimple on one shade, and the bottom rim of the other is not perfectly level. I could return them, but I'm happy enough to still give 4 stars. I would order again.

The eggshell shantung is a silk-like fabric. It is definitely not linen. It is a softback shade, meaning it has two layers of fabric. Very nice. Good construction. Arrived undamaged by FedEx. Good value.
